I need an excuse...and help me find a dress

Ok I got invited to a birthday party on saturday night in south beach. it's on venetian island which means it's probably at a sick ass mansion.

i have to hostess on saturday night, and at first, i didnt think it would be a problem to work and then get out at 9:30/10:00 and head over, but now i'm like fuck it.

i dont want to be rushed all day saturday shopping for a gift and a dress, getting my nails and hair done, etc...and then rush off to work by 4.

i can't go to work. i need a REALLY good excuse.


oh yea and i need a cool dress to go with my "ho-ish" shoes

my boss is having a baby tonight...they are inducing labor. she went in yesterday. so that got my creative juices flowing lol

i was thinking that i could tell my boss (the one i need to lie to, for my night job) that a really close family friend is having a baby...inducing labor and she is going in on friday night and having the baby on saturday, and that she needs me to watch her other kids at home so her family can be at the hospital. i'll just act like they can't get anyone else to watch them and that i already agreed to it.

genius right!? my date thinks it's too unbelievable. but it has to be something really important. like there is NO WAY i can go to work.

i make my own decisions all the time, but i like getting input. lol

regardless i say you go to work, just think itll make it that much better waiting to get off and the go have some fun, you can easily do both besides lieing= bad karma...

yea last time i ran into this chick at the sagamore hotel, she was in a vip tent party with nikki hilton and scott stortch lol

here's the deal. i work tonight, and i'm pretty sure tomorrow & saturday night.

when i work on saturdays, i need to be there by 4. so that means i'll need to start getting ready around 2:30/3:00. so that means i'm gonna have to get up early and rush to the mall and shop for a present, a gift for her, & get my nails and hair done all in like a 3 hour period. that's impossible.

what if i can't find the perfect dress?

u guys think my excuse is too out there?

my date thinks i should say that i have to be at a marketing event for my day job on saturday night. they know i have a day job and work for an attorney, so i can just tell her that my boss is like demanding that i be at this event on behalf of my firm.

which one is better?

Safest is to call in sick. Tell them you have a mild case of food poisoning or something. Lots of vomiting + diarrhea ftw

doesn't sound very plausible and it most certainly isn't creative thinking on your part

Use the day job excuse and get the black & white dress. The other one is cool, but you already have two that look pretty similar.

First dress is more flirty and fun. I would probably want to talk to the girl in that dress. The second dress is more glam and Bond Girl. I wouldn't talk to the girl in the second dress but she would get everyone's attention when she walks in the room.

ok i guess i was getting too creative. but sometimes u gotta come up with something SO bizarre that it's believable u know...

i guess i'll stick to the day job excuse.

and my date wants me to get this one. not bad...

u're fine lookin no matter what u wear

best excuse to get of a work is that you crack a nerve in your teeth or something like that

when in doubt... "female" issues are always a good excuse. no one will ever question it, especially not a male boss.

i just called the restaurant and the schedule for this weekend isn't even done yet!! woo hoo! i told the girl who answered to leave a note on the manager's desk that i "absolutely cannot work saturday due to an obligation for my day job" and then i told her i would just talk to her when i go to work tonight. she said she'd do it.

i already used the marketing event for my day job excuse w/ the secretary. she called back and said the schedule is done, and i'm on for saturday and that "all the girls" are on saturday, which is 3 of us.

i'm just gonna have to talk to my boss tonight when i work and tell her there's nothing i can do, and if she has to write me up or whatever, then oh well.

last weekend 2 hostesses were on, and neither one of them showed or picked up their phones the entire night, leaving only 2 of us there and we were fine, so i'm not worried. they got "written up" for it. W0000 h0000 lol

they're not gonna fire me. besides, the chef (who is also part owner) loves me
