Challenges of Asexuality

Ok, I consider myself as part of that 1% of the population that doesnt have a sexual attraction to either sex due to me having Tourette, OCD, and ADD.

On rare occasions I find myself gauking at Females and feeling a little arousal, call me a pervert or any names phrases that you can drum up.

Keep in mind that I chose the route of Asexuality due to me passing on my neurological disorders to my off-spring and not wanting them to have to go through the same hell I have went through over the course of my life time. Thoughts/constructive criticism are appreciated.

labels such as "straight" , "gay", "bi" are all constructs of modern day culture...

imo you should fuck whoever the fuck you wanna fuck.

Well, I think of life as one great big causal reaction. Before I act on anything I think of the reprecusions tomorrow, 1 year, 10 years down the road. I take into account all variants of the resultant aspects. Yes I have heard from a few of my friends that the act of sex or a derivative thereof is an awesome feeling. But one needs to ponder the risks of such an undertaking. One runs the risk of contracting a dormant or active STI, the risk of an undesired genetic mutation of the product, or reputation loss if one didnt meet the standards of ones partner.

Posted by Slylee on Mar-08-2007 18:54:

no seriously...can you explain it a little? so you just look at both members of the opposite sex (FINE ones) and nothing really goes through your mind like, "damn" or "mmMMM!"

yeah, i'm in my biology class right now and my teacher said that Tourettes OCD and ADD are not genetic which means that if u have a child he /she won't get the same disorders that you have.

it is not possible.

so, yeah. that's it. cya

Both Wiki and Tourette Syndrome Association in the US say otherwise:

http://web.archive.org/web/20050208...at_is/Faqs.html

That being said, a child with the gene won't necessarily suffer as much as their previous generation did, if at all. Still, if people do not want to start a family because of this risk, a vasectomy is the obvious solution. Something tells me there will be regret later in life though.

if someone ever mentions wiki as a fucking source, they need to be shot in the face, and then raped.

I checked the references, thank you very much.

Sorry for misuse of a word there, I get ahead of myself when I am typing. I have been told by medical professionals that since I inherited my neurological disorders through my parents genes it is likely that I will pass the same ones on to mine. Like I said I do look at a girl and everything about my physiology goes wild.

From your previous post of how your concerned about repercussions due to engaging in sexual activity I would say you're just too anxious to actually have sex more than being asexual. If you're physiology goes wild you are having a sexual response, you're just not acting on it. So basically you're only asexual in your head while heterosexuality and homosexuality that someone mentioned here have a strong biological factor. I.e. you said you react to females, then you have heterosexual inclinations, you just choose to not act on it. It's like being hungry and deciding not to eat.

You definitely don't type or use the wording that I would expect a person with those disorders to use.
