all i have to say
is a big fuck you to all those oakenfold haters right now im listening too Paul Oakenfold - Live at HOME, Ibiza.mp3 and granted its very old but you understand WHY the man got such popularity in the first place just because he doenst play your style of music NOW doenst mean that should take away from anything he did in the past and thats where the respect comes from his past works. i mean noone hated elvis cause he got fat. the **** just kept goin. and good on him.
ps. theres no need to flame im just extending a big fuck you... it needs harsh response... but i dont mind people agreeing!

Though you do have a point to an extent.
Paul has gotten lazy in my opinion, and he's not even close to a great DJ now than what he once was. Producing hasn't done justic to him either.
Meh, oh well.
I couldn't care all that much about him.

Paul Oakenfold played in the Shore Club Hotel (alongside Josey Palida, creator of Cafe Del Mar, he rocked btw) in south beach last week, and all i can see is he is still the best. What a great track selection he choses for each o his live sets. He will always be # 1
Oakey's Space in Ibiza set was (and still is) amazing. His Essential Mix from the Rojan in Shanghai, China (9.26.99) is my second favorite liveset from him, and after that I would have to say Gatecrasher @ Lotherton Hall (6.20.99)!
I think it's funny the way some people hate him so much. You would think that they'd reserve their angst for someone more deserving, for someone who perhaps wasn't quite so responsible for shaping the electronic dance music scene into what it is today.

i agree cause cause i think Oakie sucked, sucks and will always suck
I agree with DJ Cold as ice in that PvD is sliding downhill. Just hope he can pick himself up in time for next saturday when I see him at the NEC. As for Oky I am fed up of replying to these threads that start Oky arguments. GOOD BYE!

Paul Oakenfold is the man.
Oakie's still in my list of top DJ's because his past sets were and still are amazing. His increasingly prominent image in the media has slipped up the purity of his former style, as he is beginning to cater to a wider audience.
Wish he would go back to the incredible sets he used to spin.
