did a seach, nothing relevent came up...
anyway, any one enjoy the game of DoTa? any serious players out there?
i always enjoy a good Inhouse game over pubs or TDA...
nope but basshunter rocks 
its unbelievably amazing how popular Dota is. to many it is its own game. Ive asked people if they play warcraft 3, and a lot say "no but i play dota"
i'm not really into it though.

I much prefer starcraft over war3 (more strategy less hit and run). Anyway War3 custom is great (excl dota) I mainly play all the strategy games and some of the competitive Games. Only TD I play is pally TD.
Some good strategy/adventure/social type maps are:
Heroes and Empires[Strategy]: Some people are empires and some heroes (choose ingame). Main part is PVE but if you want you can have no PVE and just PVP (although empires get boring after a while once you know all the tricks). Recomended version 7.2 (others are imba or not complete especially 8.8)
Werewolf[Social]: One person is the wolf the rest are farmers. The wolf is farmer by day and wolf by night. Players must work together to deduce who is the wolf. Good fun social game.
Underworld (like vampirism)[A non mainstream style TDish game] Vampirism involves 1/2 people as the vampire and the rest as peasents. Peasents build a base and have workers collecting wood. They build towers to defend themselves from the wolf. The map is littered with obstacles to make the game more interesting. Anyone who is bitten turns into a vampire. Underworld takes the game a step further with there being 1 vampire and a wolf. They are on seperate teams and compete for the souls of the humans. At the end if no humans are left and there are still both sides left there is a showdown. Great fun for all those noob vampirism players who think they are a better vamp then you.
Village builder: There are 2 raiders(Optional) and 10 normal base builders. There are several bases enclosed with gates etc around the map. Players build buildings which produce villagers which make money over time. If the villagers are killed you income is stopped. Players can also build walls and gates and military units. If Raiders are included 1-4 people(depending on skill level) are usually destroyed at the start. Sometimes slows down at the end due to the lack of tech and the fact that armies are sometimes 500+strong. It's got more longevity then Heroes and Empires. Theres also different races to choose from to mix it up and the legendary Uther summoning ritual which can break a tie.
Jungle Troll Tribes[Adventure and my favourite atm] This is a 12 player map (6v6,4v4v4, solo or less then the suggested amount per team). Each player is a troll and chooses a class. Some classes are better at gathering food or materials or pvp. Each player has heat (regenerated by being near a fire), HP (regenerated by eating) and sleep to worry about (you can sleep outside at a cost to HP and Heat).
Players must quickly build a fire and get food. After that they work through the tech tree to get varios stuff that will inevitably help them destroy the other tribe or help them survive longer.
Many many game modes keep the game interesting. You can have more or less food or more or less resources depending on how you want the game to play out and the skill level. HP, Heat and Tiredness also decrease over time and you can change the rate through modes.
It is possible to solo but its hard. This game is great for competiveness or general fun. Long longevity.
Paladin TD[Competitive TD]: Each player has a builder and a base. Players build barracks to make spawns (which goto the adjacent player) and towers to defend himself from the adjacent player. Great balance keeps the game interesting. Players have 100 lives (or 25 if set to that) and each time one of your spawns gets through you steal that enemies life (-1 from them +1 to you). Great competitiveness although might get boring after a while.
Genesis and Empires[Strategy by same ppl as H&E] Good fun strategy PVP game. You build a base and move through the tech.
Castle builder[Strategy] Another good fun strategy pvp game. Balances keep the game interesting for a long time. Too bad this isnt very populer anymore.

DoTA has to be the best game of all time. I hate WC3 like somone said, but i live for dota, cs and trance

me some friends play IH games frequently...anywhere from 3v3 to 5v5's...if anyone wants to play...let me know

I play it a fuckload. Just pubs though, no TDA for me.
Darkarbiter, go watch some replies, there is TONS of strategy in wc3 compared to SC (arguably more so IMHO).

Dota was ok, never really got too into it though.
I do love tower defense games though. Sucky part is that they release a new version of each one every other day, and most people don't let you DL.
I am a serious DotA player, perhaps even more serious than I am a WarIII TFT player. But that will probably change after the upcoming patch. I stopped laddering due to annoyances (Pandaren Brewmaster, etc.).
PM me if you're a GOOD DotA player in a GOOD clan.
