Above and Beyond TATW Appreciation Thread

If I ever hear the transition between Lange vs. Gareth Emery "Another You, Another Me" and Gabriel & Dresden feat. Jan Burton "Dangerous Power" as played by First State on their Guest Mix for Above & Beyond Trance Around The World 148 (23-01-2007) in a club, I will srsly soil myself.

(yes I know, I'm sort of appreciating First State--btw when are they fucking coming to T.O.!?!?!?!?!?!?--but I give credit to A&B's TATW for including them)

Share your sublime TATW moments here...

Beautiful. I'm showing some love to our very own Jer. Martin's Medusa (I'm sure he's been congratulated a million times in other threads but I have to say it one more time--GOOD JOB, BUDDY!!!)

my sublime moment? having a cute shout-out on TATW

otherwise, I first heard Black is The Color on TATW, and it was love at first note <3

I really think my name and avatar speak for themeselves. Ok so I am a little obsessed. But i truly think A&B's first solo group album, Tri-State is a masterpiece in trance. It is nice to see great DJ's also capable of such amazing production.

Just the intro track Tri-State gives me goosbumps. Can't sleep, good for me, alone tonight, world on fire!, stealing time, home...and lets not forget Air for life. WOW. This album takes me on a journey...

I say people take this thread one step further. Anyone heading to bal should bitch and complain until above and beyond gets more than 2 hours, and an earlier slot then 8am.
Lol

Trance Around The World 152 Menno De Jong Guestmix.

About at 13:30 mark he starts to cut in Airbase - One Tear Away

pay close attention to the melody at that moment and then keeping that melody in mind follow how the tune builds up into fawking epic masterpeice.

Sublime moment? haha. Sir i think that right there is pretty much the reason why my life makes sense.

those guys play some brilliant stuff, used to be my favorite radio show. I now prefer sets that are mixed more, with no interruption (chatting).

:P

When I first started taking production seriously, I took on the Second Nature alias. Under this alias, there were a few more obscure ones like Medusa and Freejack. There were only a handful of tracks finished underneath Medusa which were 'Cyprus', 'Secrets' and 'Scandalous', which were the more thumping prog-trance flavour. Second Nature was left for my more uplifting material, but nothing was released under that guise for a few reasons.. Same with the Freejack alias.

'Secrets' was written in the last week of this past July on the bus ride back to London, and I've since discarded the other aliases and begun using my name.. So when it was played on TATW it still had the old file name. My sound has been more techy and thumping as of late regardless, so I guess it was just a matter of finding a specific sound that best suited me.

'Secrets' is in the process of recieving a little facelift and should soon surface alongside a Club Mix as well as one more new track.

Ty, you and Ben are the only two...okay maybe add Drew, Barry, and Aaron...oh and Tim and of course Dennis...lol that's not such a small number anymore. Okay you and Ben are the only NON-DJs whose music recommendations I'd take with my EARS closed!!!! lol

Can't wait to experience your sublime moment at home today!

Jer produces? Wtf!

Posted by Tygon on Mar-12-2007 18:35:

One of the best days I've had in the last year was when A&B played one of my tracks on TATW. Funny enough... Jer was the one (without my knowledge) who sent it off to them.

JER'S THE MAN!
