-- ear plugs?

ear plugs?

going to be 21 finally for this WMC, and something I was wondering before I go through a weeks worth of clubbing, do you people use ear plugs? after one night at space it takes like 24 hours for my ears to recover.. but after going to clubs back to back for a week i'm not going to be giving my ears any rest really and i don't want to be deaf after the whole thing?

you people think it's necessary? and if so, any ear plugs you recommend to still enjoy the music?

^^ yep, those are the ones I use. They are fantastic.
Only downside is they kinda make your ears itch, but you get used to it.

I thought I lost my pair and so I went and bought a new one. I just found the old pair in some pants that had been lying around in my room for 2 months.

lol

No need to get fancy with earplugs, just stuff a wad of toilet paper or napkin in your ear if it gets bad. works for me.

I use them all the time.

These are the ones I use...

http://www.walgreens.com/store/prod...id=prod1499680#

According to these. They protect up to 30dba A bit more than the hearos & a bit cheaper as well. In any case u lose one pair or they get dirty at least you have 9 more pairs to use.

I would go with the more expensive ones. Yes, the bulk foam ones block out more DB, which is good for your hearing, BUT that also doesnt allow you to hear the music so well. They pretty much muddy the sound like crazy and all you end up hearing is the booming of the bass.

The ones I use allow you to hear all frequencies of the music very well (as they are designed for use by musicians, rather than say, construction workers).

Also they are reusable, so it's an investment.

WHere can I get those HEros? I dont think walgreens has those particular ones

I get those brown ones.. they fade with the body color so they dont tend to stick out in the crowd.

beema, the ones you're using, do they stick out a lot? or are they hard to see?

in the past ive always used these http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/1180.htm but they are a pain in the ass to get positioned correctly. so i kinda want something different for wmc.

might go pick up a pair of the ones you were suggesting.

the tips do stick out alittle. but IMO, it doens't matter b/c its sooo worth having your hearing at the end of the night and not having to deal with the ringing. if i'm about to take a pic i usually take them out real quick. so i mean they can be seen. but inside a club when its dark and everything you can't really tell.

They stick out a bit, but who cares. Maybe you look a little silly but it's worth it so you don't go deaf (but are still able to hear and enjoy the music).

Hell I was wearing them at Harry Klein in Munich and it served as a conversation piece. Ended up talking to these two really hot chicks who were into minimal techno for a long time b/c of them.
lol
then again, european chicks arent so conceited

I have some pretty good ones... the only problem is that i keep forgetting to take them with me. doesn't help that way

I should try the ones you suggested, beema! looks like everyone is interested in them

I'm thinking about going out and getting those custom-molded ones eventually. If only I weren't so lazy...

Yeah you have to goto an ear doctor and get the mold done (which takes up a couple hours I assume) and then it probably takes atleast a week before you get them.
I think they are also something like $250...

Althought if you can wear them even while spinning w/ headphone on (so I've heard) it'd be well worth it.

Go with the hearos ones though. You shouldn't be dissapointed. You gotta clean em every so often tho cause they get lots of...wax... stuck in them.
