Infected Mushrooms new feel/sound

I used to like infected mushroom but I've gone off them recently due to most of their songs being a little too repetitive and simplistic. From what I can tell from that new(ish) promo cd from their new album they are much better. Going insane is like an instant classic. Anyone else here disagree with me or feel the same way?

well lots of the psy heads won't like "becoming insane", i personally love it (i guess i agree with you)

theyre trying to become pop-ish , bring trance to the mainstream sort of thing

i remember one of the first songs i listened by infected mushroom was "Nevr Ever Land" what a TUNE!

No, they used to be decent, and now they're producing some of the worst, cheesiest, shittiest music I've ever heard.

totally agree. their new tunes makes me vomit. literally. VOMIT.
I can't say I was a big fan of their older stuff but at least it was possible to listen to them, Anyone Else But Me is still their best song, a shame it was never on any of their albums. BUT GOD DAMN they are dogshit nowadays.

Personally I like the chaotic oldschool goa sound like DOOF and old MWNN

they dont even sound psy anymore, they have overused vocals on their new album and they are the shittest vocals ever....
they seriously went down hill but i suppose that gets them more $$$$$$

I actually liked their first album back in the day. Worst in relation to other BIG Israeli-psy albums like Astral's "dancing galaxy" and MFG's "new kind of world"...but nevertheless good.

I don't think MWNN ever sounded chaotic.

It's hard to top that one.

I don't think they have gotten worse really. They have just changed direction. I mean their production is the best its ever been give or take. But they have gotten progressively more cheesy and after The Gathering its doubtful you could even call their music 'Trance' as theres not much thats really hypnotic or lulling about all the breaks and drops. Even Classical Mushroom (which I really like) tends to spiral off into classical breakdowns quite often and songs often change suddenly and without warning.

Like I said, great if thats what you are into. And likewise their new stuff is great if you like that kind of thing. I just don't.

I can't technically fault what those 2 guys do even if I dislike their music but the only criticism I have had of Infected Mushroom that seems to hold up is: for the love of god, STOP THE SINGING. OH GOD.

Everything after Classical Mushroom is just utter garbage.
BP Empire still had a few 'acceptable' tunes but they've really
sold out.. I mean really really stinky cheese.

Totally agree with you here. They have pretty much turned into a full on band now. The last time I saw them in March of last year they had 4 guys playing. One was playing the guitar and the bald guy was screaming his head off into the microphone it was awful IMO.

IM is the new Skazi, except worse. They used to be good, but threw that away

I've listened to their new album and i was pleasantly surprised, there are actually some tracks i enjoyed and also a kind of electronic prog rock track called "Heavyweight" which is a total freakin masterpiece! Best thing they've ever done, Heavyweight. i die

So they used to be good?? Because I've only seen them once, a little while ago, and the part about the bald guy screaming his head off into the mic, I thought it was aweful too. I didn't get into them at all, all night.
