WINDMILL SESSIONS 03 MARCH
Hey everyone! Posting my latest mix in the series. As ever you can expect deep, atmospheric tracks with a firm emphasis on melody. The mix is meant to provide a lush journey for the listener, with a few mini-climax's along the way. The track themselves have been carefully selected as has the order to hopefully provide this
Stig Baasvik- Darkplace Moodscapes 1 w/ Z.O.E- The Origin
Guillaume Nyckees- Elision
Dale Anderson+Anil Chawla- Leftorium
Snake Sedrick- Untouchable (cassino+laben remix)
Jiva ft. Rula- Timelapse (sultan+ned shepard dub mix)
Introvert- Things Left Unsaid
Rob Curtis- Body In Motion
Benz+MD- Signals
Subsky- Intensive Care
Storyteller- Polar White (emersia mix)
Quivver+Blackwatch- Loveless
Solar Stone- Release
Mirco de Govia- Nightscape
Stig Baasvik- Darkplace Moodscapes 1 w/ Z.O.E- The Origin
A nice atmospheric intro combo, complete with beautiful chanting and deep soundscapes. The Stig Baasvik tune is from the brilliant cult comedy "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace"!
Guillaume Nyckees- Elision
A french producer/dj who is starting to make a big impression with his tracks, this one supplys soothing, rolling melodies and a great overall feeling and sets the scene for the rest of the mix.
Dale Anderson+Anil Chawla- Leftorium
I am in love with this track currently! Beautiful, subtle and incredibly atmospheric, it complements the flow of the mix
nicely.
Snake Sedrick- Untouchable (cassino+laben remix)
A chilled progressive track that builds for the next tune, again its deep, introspective stuff.
Jiva ft. Rula- Timelapse (sultan+ned shepard dub mix)
This track slowly envelopes you with smooth basslines, soothing vocals and a more uptempo feel. Brilliantly happy, in an understated way!
Introvert- Things Left Unsaid
After the more positive track before this tune stands in stark contrast. Glitchy melodies, deep throbbing bass and incredible atmospherics. All under-pinned by top-class technical wizardry.
Rob Curtis- Body In Motion
A typical tune from the ever-reliable Toes in the Sand stable. Deep, melodic but still retains the darkness needed to progress the mix.
Benz+MD- Signals
This tune crashes into the mix with a wave of shimmering melodies, hypnotic basslines and big-room feelings as it shifts through the gears fluidly.
Subsky- Intensive Care
One of my favourite current tracks, its fits so well into the mix. Chugging basslines, beautiful subtle melodies and real dancefloor potential, as well as sounding rather nice on the headphones.
Storyteller- Polar White (emersia mix)
The combination of Storyteller+Emersia never fail to deliver. This particular tune is an uptempo affair that keeps the pace of the mix up. Pure progressive slow-trance, or something akin.
Quiver+Blackwatch- Loveless
Into true classic territory now with the seminal "Loveless". Dark, grooving and haunting but retaining melodic sensibilities, this track has some of the best vocals Ive ever heard.
Solar Stone- Release
The best trance producers ever in my opinion deliver one of their very best, if underrated tracks. It has that old skool sound and wonderfully warm hypnotic melodies and guitar licks to immerse yourself in. A beautiful way to end the mix on a lush-sounding high.
Mirco de Govia- Nightscape
Mirco de Govia is such a talented producer and as an outro "Nightscape" works so well. It features natural sounds and spine-tingling warm pad sweeps. Lovely stuff!
Hope people like it, let us know what you thought if you listen.
Thanks
