Six of the 15 members of the election commission have been changed in a reshuffle. Mr Veshnyakov, the chairman, has been removed. Most of the new members were hand-picked by President Putin. Recently Mr Veshnyakov had begun to speak out about the lack of choice for voters, with the United Russia party - which supports Mr Putin - consolidating its grip across the country. Political analysts also say he had annoyed the Kremlin by criticising changes to the electoral laws which make it more difficult for smaller parties to enter parliament.

Why all BBC stories about Russia are so negative and biased?

Why they say such lie like that: Most of the new members were hand-picked by President Putin. When in reality the President is able to pick on 1/3 of members of the commission.

Why do they start this article with Mr Veshnyakov had spoken out against the dominance of the pro-Kremlin party, United Russia, which controls the national parliament., without providing any evidence of such occasion.

Why they don't mention that he has already spent 2 four years periods as a head of the election commission.

Reading BBC makes me more and more think of it as of yellow tabloid that you can pickup in the morning somewhere in a bus while commuting to a work.

Nothing new here. An average British citizen probably thinks that Russia is back to its communist dictatorship by now. Everyone forgot the actual tyranny and horrible corruption of the Yeltsin era by now (example: Yeltsin bombing the Parliament to force them to give him more power). Yeltsin and Gorbachev (attempted invasion of Baltic states to keep them within Soviet Union in late 1980s, Afghanistan blunders, failure to deal with Nagorno-Karabakh) these are the heros, Putin reformer the evil dictator.
