The OFFICIAL I'm not going to WMC and YOU ALL SUCK thread!

Vent frustrations here.

Looks to be one of the most baddass (and expensive) WMCs yet. This is the second year I can't go, after going twice. Yes I know, priorities, priorities.

what do you need to vent, you ain't missing anything but teenyboppers on spring break, overcrowded clubs, and $80+ cover charges, not to mention the arms and legs you sacrifice to get there...

people forget this is MIAMI, outside of this week its pretty much a flop...cheap to go there in the summer so why kill yourself over this week when you probably only want to see 1-2 dj's. You could probably see them again in Miami during the non-WMC week and spend a significant amount less then you would if you went WMC week.

wmc was over for me when radio1 stopped their FREE nikki beach party, then i heard last year they moved ultra from bayfront and consolidated it into 3-5 small stages...nothing beats the amphitheater, NOTHING!

RIP WMC It was fun while it lasted!

There are waaaaaaaaaaaay more than 1 or 2 DJs I would like to see. And no, I probably would not go to Miami any other time of the year, not interested. And seems outside of WMC, too dominated by hip hop. During WMC, most people are there for the EDM, and that's a pretty cool feeling. Most of my friends have other priorities these days (i.e. saving money for weddings, etc)...and I am working abroad this year, so it's not for me right now...but that doesn't mean I don't wish I was going and had the money and time to burn.

ok, maybe I am just annoyed seeing 10 emails per hour advertising parties I wish I could go to!

haha im in a similar boat. i bought a plane ticket and ALMOST bought a few event tickets before i had to cancel my trip. i just dont have the money. and i need to pay off my credit card and fix my car. i will be going to ibiza for sure next year but quite possibly wmc too. this year i am going to go to toronto though.

and yes nyce: thats EXACTLY why i dont want to go to miami a different week. its not anything special. it aint like LA where we get everyone under the sun coming here.

I'm happy to say I'm not going to WMC because I spent my money on Trance Energy/Holland trip And by not going, I get to see my boy Piet play here two nights in a row

I'd much rather go clubbing there than here. Space terrace @ 6am when the sun is coming up = win. Pawnshop = one of the coolest clubs I've been to EVER! Beaches = gorgeous. Hotel parties (yes they happen outside of WMC) = awesome. Find me something like that in LA.

i guess being more of a city person its not that interesting to me. i dont like to be at the beach long really. an hour is more than enough for me.

why would i even want to look at it? lol i guess cuz it isn't new and exciting to me but for most people on this site it is. i can safely say i grew out of it. the best lineup for me was miami 05 thats from hitting it since 01 and granted in 05 to me it turned into a money pit. i was sad that nikki beach was charging bottle service for the tiki huts and cocktail/bar service for the beds when in 01-02 it was first come first keeps.

you could have the most killer 'lineup' but that does nothing to the fun of traversing from the amphitheater to sound stage and every other sight inbetween.

just my 2 cents so that most of you don't lament over the fact that you 'aren't making it to wmc' (omg)...cuz really in my eyes the sponsors, organization, and events themselves have declined significantly since when it was more about music, free, chill, and having a good time type of atmosphere. Now it's all money money money, before everything was free cuz everything was not as packed as they are now. more people that come more money they charge!

I am at peace with my decision to not attend WMC this year.

Like the Buddha, I expand my horizons by attending Coachella this year instead.

VIVA LA BJORKEN!

I could care less about going to Miami just to party and spend lots of money.
I'd rather take a real vacation where it won't be all crowded, enjoy some scenery, and do other things besides party 24/7.

Yeah I guess I'm NOT one of the cool kids that's going to WMC.

Ibiza this year anyone???

think'n about going this year too!

Im so bummed I had to cancel my trip this yr. (Booked and ready to go too...)

I love Miami! I went for WMC two years ago and I had an amazing time. I can say that even though it was WMC, during the day, I didn't go to any day parties. Instead, I went around and became a tourist. I tried different restaurants, and I went to the beach. All this while my friends were having fun at the parties. Honestly, I don't regret it. I think my most memorable times come from that year are when I was walking around and discovered PIZZA RUSTICA by chance. Hehe I then took SweetCandy Girl to eat there and she fell in love!

I also remember relaxing all day at the white beach drinking coronas without anyone bothering me. That was awesome!

Eating "Ropa Vieja" (Cuban Shredded beef) was so yummy! I had to have it 3 times while I was there.

Next time I go, I guarantee you that I will only go out clubbing for a bit, and the rest of the time will be spent exploring Miami. I didn't get a chance to go to Downtown, the keys, or any latin/salsa clubs. That's set up for next time.

i can't see miami cause i'm looking at ibiza

Not going, don't care.


Looking forward to most of those DJ's coming to LA with all their WMC tracks
