Song that got you into trance/electronic music?
Theres probably at least 1 song, or 1 dj that got you into the genre. Who (dj) or what song got you hooked?
For me it was:
Dance the Trance: it was off mp3.com from a while ago. Before that i was listening to electronica like orbital, prodigy, underworld etc. Anyways, after Dance the Trance, (its quite a simple song) i began getting more into electronic music with melodies etc. After that i got into Robert Miles-Children, and the Innercity sets.
How bout youz?
dude this is like the 99999999999999999999999999th thread about what got you into trance.....anyway...i got into with with Trance[]control - dream of trance...
Really want to know...
Can't recall exactly but it was probably something along the lines of ATB, Alice Deejay or DJ Jurgen.
Laugh if you will...

The first song would have to be Robert Miles - Children, and then Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel.
It was Tranceport (the oakie one) that really got me into it.
Just how it is supposed to have happened for everyone; first time I heard For an Angel on an underground radio show. I remember speeding home and taping it dragging my jaw behind me.
Orbital Halcyon & On & On got me into eletronica, esp. hackers Soundtrack, as well as Prodigy's Fat of The Land.
Well...it hasn't been asked for awhile so...
First song that got me into electronica: Antiloop- In My Mind
First song that got me hooked on trance: Gouryella- Gouryella
umm
into electronica - josh wink - are u there
juan atkins - infiniti
into trance -- greece 2000 original
Old skool Astral Projection and Man With No Name, the good ol' psytrance days, before the likes of Tiesto and Ferry
hehe, Orbital - Halcyon & On & On......got that soundtrack WAY back in the day.....mmmm such a sweet track....TO THIS DAY
and ofcourse, Robert Miles - Children........ I remember listening to that freshman year of highschool......
Lightforce - Take your time and Dj sakin - Protect your mind (ayla rmx) got me into trance...
but into electronic music? hmmm... can't remember now, I have to think about it more...
Underworld-Born Slippy and Moby-James Bond theme
I was always into the electronic music genre...ever since...I was like 13. But back then, I was clueless about it, I listened to cheezey stuff most of the time, I was addicted to it...I listened to rock back then. As far as I can remember though, the tunes that kept my interest in the past are;
Prodigy - Hyperspeed (from the Prodigy Experience album). This tune probably started it all...
Westbam - Sunshine
Dr Motte - Meet Her At The Loveparade
Then came my Scooter days
and in summer 2000...Members of Mayday - Datapop (the best MoM song imo) peaked my interest in this "techno"...so I purchased the Loveparade 2000 compiliation, came back to Canada, started looking around the 'net for different MoM stuff...stumbled into a review of Tsunami 1, dled System F - Out of the Blue, Gouryella - Tenshi, and Ascension - Someone (Thrillseekers mix) got mildly addicted and then borrowed Tiesto and Corsten@Innercity off a friend (he borrowed it from another friend, and that friend borrowed it from none other than bluE_Neon of TA, lol), and thats when my real addiction started
Last year, early 2001.
Cowgirl- Underworld
then early Chemical Brothers
Into electronics:
Prodigy -The Fat of the Land album
Into melodic electrnics:
Scooter (To this day my no. 1
)
Would probably be Fire and The Age of Love and the rest of Age of Love album that got me liking Scooter... Then their next album got me freaked on
Tingly touching the rest of Trance:
Blank& Jones - Cream (Heard the PvD mix first and recognized)
Sasha - Xpander
William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten remix)
Mad 4 all Trance productions :::
System F - Out of the Blue
one track..one name
pvd
tracks:
visions of shiva - perfect day
and how much can u take.
both classics.
both amazing.

heh, i love(d )Alice Deejay, I always thought Judy was so hot. I used to listen to radio beats, then a progression...Jurgen.... Jean ..... Sakin... Miles..... Voodoo and Serano......Picotto.... etc etc.
i used to think the Titanic theme was hardcore, ahaha.
I have to give a lot of credit to this site for introducing me to some quality stuff that I wouldn't have found before stumbling across it a while back.
The track that got me into electronic music, was The Prodigy - Android on What Evil Lurks maxi single in early '91.
Track that got me into trance was Usura - Trance Emotions.
I remember going to Oakie's session here in Bangkok and not even knowing who he was or what trance and mixing was.. the set was alright.. then I went to a local DJ party and that guy just blew the roof off .. i didn't know what it was all about until he mixed Darude- Sandstorm and i noticed it wasn't same track anymore and people were going mad and i went up and asked him what the track was ... he handed the cover of the Binary Finary 2000 for me .. that was the beginning.
Anyway to answer the question .. it's Binary Finary ..
Snap - Rhythm is A Dancer
crystal method - busy child
or anything off the daft punk homework album
Electronica:
1995
Future sound of london - Papa New Guinea
Aphex twin - selected ambient works volume one
- Richard D james album
- Come to daddy single (IZ-US is such a hype track)
1999
Trance:
Oakenfold from new york, both discs
Anything at all oakenfold from 1999, I was hooked. From oakenfold I moved to radio 1. Radio one introduced me to so many new names, and all these new names had new songs, and all these new songs were remixed by even more new people, and the cycle hasn't stopped yet.
.... flex those pecs as oakey cranks it up from shadow lounge, one of the hottest clubs in miami...
U-96-Das Boot was the first electronic song i heard and liked but that didn't get me into electronica!
I dunno i guess i started out like everyone else that have replied.
Prodigy- Jilted Generation
Scooter
The path to good trance often lie in commercial stuff. Sad but true
