well if your using digital coax to connect ur cdj's to your mixer dont settle for anything less than goldplated. theres a noticible difference (in my opinion).
Optical/digital coaxial.
Audioquest for analog

if your anal about your cables...get monster or mogami...but mogami doesnt come in rca jacks
cables are the most often overlooked part of a setup
your setup sound quality is only as strong as it's weakest link
use insolated cables with high quality connectors for the best possible sound quality (monster cables, etc.)
there is a difference with gold plated connectors, use them if possible

Good quality decent priced cables would be "Hosa"
If you serious about your quality, your best off making your own.
It really depends on the size of your system. If you've got huge Mackies or JBLs, then, yeah, spring for the Monster stuff. If you've got small monitors/laptop speakers, it's not gonna make much of any difference.
Monster is crap despite all the marketing voodo mystic they try and bring to the brand name.
Crap might not be the best choice of words but it certainly is overpriced for what it is.
If you want something decent there are plenty of options but I would recommend
www.bluejeanscable.com/
I would recommend Tributaries good cable for a decent price. It really depends though on what level your looking for.
i'm just gonna post here instead of posting a new thread.
i'm looking into making myself some TRS to TRS balanced cables. i've googled a fair bit and read a bunch of stuff about it and one thing i don't get is:
wouldn't the wire/cable you buy have to have 3 wires inside of it instead of 2 (which is what all sites i've seen suggest)? all the sites only talk about connecting the + and the -, none say anything about connecting the ground.
i'm such a n00b that i don't even know what the ground is for. could someone please explain this thing to me and tell me what kind of a cable i should go out and buy?
thanks.
There is mucho amounts of audiophile wankfactor behind different cable types, basically inside it's all really the same stuff, gold connectors don't make much difference compared to silver, one just oxidises better. I run a higher quality cable to my sub and I can notice the difference. As far as running from your CDJ's to your mixer I wouldnt go out and spend $200 on home theater cables because you won't notice.
When it comes to home theater equipment it's slightly another story. and you can break out the much used analogy "You wouldnt put bald tyres on a ferrari, but you wouldnt put racing tyres on a susuki mighty boy either."
