Booka Shade (live) @ Musee Juste Pour Rire :: REVIEW ::
I dont normally write a review this quickly but for Booka Shade this is a must.....
Got there around 12.30 (damn Montreal highway was closed or something, wtv) saw Bender wow dude you played some heavy tracks....Maus I always wanted to hear you live and you didnt disapoint, awsome set....
Booka Shade....
I've seen alot of djs/performers in my day but in all honesty ive never seen a crowd admire or appreciate like ive seen at Booka Shade....people were just in aw...
Live these two are insane, i never expected to hear the things i did....i went up close for a bit to see them in action, wow the guy was raping the keyboard...feel bad for anyone who missed out
Of course they played all their known songs, personally i loved when they dropped 'In White Rooms' lol the crowd went nuttttts....they also played some awsome new ones, sounded amazing
Jeff congrats to an event really well done (little problem about the washroom
oh well) and you were right, that screen was unreal!
Sound system was surprisingly really good....overall one of the best nights ive had in a while, its so nice when rare bookings come to town, esp. talented like these guys....
Booka Shade seemed like they didnt want to leave lol, they did like 4 encores, i remember when he was like "ok this one has to be quick"
Selma! Too bad we didnt party together, next time...saw u on stage the whole time seemed like you were having fun...Jimmy where were you lol
I would love to see these guys again real soon...
Venue 9/10
Sound System 9/10
Booka Shade 10000000/10
P.S. DarV, Master Kush, TranceGal and Seany lol we had a siiiick night

One thing Selma lucky she got a broken drum stick lol.
One thing I can say awesome night. For sure going to try and go to more Diskho parties.

nice venue, it sucks that they played just for 1h20
That was definately one hell of a night
Booka came on a bit late but holy shit did they ever rape the dancefloor! They had the entire place moving, it was impossible not to dance. The Sound was perfect and the museum was just the right size and place for this event. Only problem was the bathroom and the coat check at the end of the night! I think coat check could have been planned out a bit better. With Booka playing last it means everyone is staying till the end and so EVERYONE is leaving at the same time
. Nice seeing Kate, Sean, Russian man, Jesse and Greg!
ps my legs are destroyed
Crazy night!
Bender did a great warm up!
Maus did a excellent set! Miam!
Bookashade was insane!
The after at DeLima was very nice too! I stayed few minutes and leave.
Nice Job Diskho!
I just sat for 10 minutes in front of my screen thinking what I could possibly say about last night...but I'm still in awe.. can't form proper sentences..
All I can say right now is WOW..just WOW. Epic night..the whole event was incredible, Booka totally raped us, Maus, Bender..the vibe, the music, the people, the drum sticks
Nice seeing everyone...Jesse, Greg, Erika, Maher, Jimmy, Stefano, Sylvie, Sean, Kate, Jeff, it was a pleasure to meet you, great host, congrats on a truely succesfull event..we need more of those.
Awesome party...the way I like them.

thanks
i would just like to say thanks to everyone that made it out for this night. It was more than i could have ever expected. and to think that as of 1pm that same day that the show was cancelled.
thanks to booka shade as well who did everything in their power to make it to montreal from new york. after cancelled flights and missed trains, most artists would have given up.
i hope you all had a great time, see you may 19th for jesse rose
as far as coat check goes, this is not like an after hours where people are leaving at all different times throughout the night. whenever you have 600 something people all leaving at the same time, of course there will be a coatcheck line. you could have ten people working it and that would still happen.
Very impressed by Booka Shade's performance !
WOW !
10/10
+1 for hot chix all around.
AWESOME NIGHT !

10/10!
WHat a fun party! Some really solid tunes from Bender, some shit I never thought I'd hear played out by Maus, and just some absolute craziness from Booka Shade! Fuck!
Great seeing everyone there- Looks like everyone was having a blast!
Afterparty was awesome, Jeff fucking rocked it which was great because I missed his set @ the beginning of the night. Maus' set was a little chiller, but some solid tunes nonetheless.
Great party overall! Can't wait for Jesse Rose @ Main Hall!!!

Looks just like I love neon parties.
K, finally feel like writing a review. Can't disappoint the fans haha.
Anyways, I was very impressed with the venue. Great visuals and pretty good sound. Good female/male ratio. Got there with 84th ~12 and it was packed. I id'ed the last few tracks from the guy playing before maus? eg. some carl craig remix, DM - Everything counts (bodzin & Huntemann rmx), Bodzin - Liebe ist..
Anyways Maus came on and played a pretty solid set (incl. the Kazyani remix of Nathan Fake - Outhouse). Seemed like there was a bit of a delay before Booka came on.
But when they came on, the whole crowd exploded. To put it simply, they were awesome. It was great to watch somebody actually doing something rather than just beatmatching. Their talent is undeniable, especially the guy who did the keyboarding and FX all at the same time. They definantly know how to put on a show, with a plethora with encores, whcih the crowd gladly accepted. The drummer even spoke some pretty solid english too. It also seemed like most of the crowd was very familiar with Booka's tracks (somewhat surprising IMO), as there was always an uproar when they played one of their hits.
Anyways, definantly a 10/10 party. Too bad it had to be regular hours but I don't think anyone could follow up Booka successfully TBH.
nice
glad you all liked it. it is very rewarding to spend 5 months of your life on something and have it turn out so good. Booka shade is not an afterhour act and they dont like to play afterhours live. who knows maybe they will come back as djs one day, hmmm.
