Review: Booka Shade @ the Mod Club March 18

What an amazing night-Booka Shade was incredible. Their energy was awesome and the music-wow. What a treat to be there, to see them live, and to dance to tracks that I've been listening to and enjoying so much in the recent past.

I had SO much fun last night. It was great seeing friends, and meeting so many nice people too. The crowd last night rocked!

Thank you to A.D/D. for this unforgettable event.

hellz ya

waiting until sunday, was definately worth it...
solid, tech-wonder-ness last night...
they could have played a little longer for my tastes,
but actually, was probably the perfect length for most people...
as i saw alot of three, sometimes 4 day warriors!!!
Show was great, the sound in MOD club has always impressed me.

MArio and crew, did a fine job with this one, AD/D get props!
Havent even touched down in miami yet...
and ive already covered Lawler, DJ Vibe, Chus& Ceballos and Booka Shade!!! NICE WEEKEND TORONTO!!!!!

SEE you guys in a week for some post WMC shenaniganz!!!

The videos of the night are awesome. Will try to post em in the next day or so...

I told myself I couldn't miss this, even if I had school the next day. Went down solo, got to The Mod Club at 10, empty, and decided to just rest my body from the night before. I got so comfortable sitting by one of the booths that I just kept to myself. Didn't bother to get up and look for anyone, but after seeing a few friends, particularly Colin, I got my ass up and was easily convinced to start grooving on the dance floor. After the initial boost I just wouldn't stop going mental the rest of the night. Surprisingly, the place got pretty packed. <3 the industry folk.

Bookashade were fucking awesome. The end. They performed most if not all tracks from their Movements album, including a few encore tracks (Body Language was performed twice ) I couldn't stop myself from going insane when Trespass was played. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It was different...very impressed..live drumming and all. Where was the bass coming from though? haha. They went on until 1:20ish...almost a 2 hour performance. No complaints from me. Would of enjoyed to catch Kenny G...but I needed my sleep.

Andrew, so glad you decided to come, fuck! Great seeing a few familiar faces.

I stayed for half an hour after Booka shade finished ,& Kenny G was doing a good job ,like always , the place got empty pretty fast after Bookashade was done, i was really shocked how short they played ...

bad does not even begin to describe it. it was easily the worst music ive heard in a while.
now, to be fair, i didnt listen to more than twenty minutes. but i dont think that should matter. i was still in the mood to party, and driven out by the music.

it was shitty, raging, electro/techno, with absolutely no real funk, groove or soul.

I'm quite pleased I went to see these guys, haven't been to a live performance in ages. They had great performance energy, really playing their hearts out. I had a bit of a surreal moment - at the start of the show I kept expecting the Blue Man Group to jump on stage (maybe it was from all the blue lights being used). Anyways, very good crowd, excellent turnout especially for a Sunday night. Props to A.D/D. for making this happen.
