Wink [Review] Boys Noize + Para One @ Hiro ... [PICS/VIDS] Track ID's please!

Another great night for music. Definitely worth calling out of work on Friday morning hahaha!

Having never been to a Thursday party before I figured it was like the rest of them, so even though doors opened at 10 we got there around 1 ... big mistake LOL. Boys Noize was already in the middle of a great set. Lots of bangin' rock and electroclash along with some great tech! Definitely a very refreshing change of sound after having tranced every other week for the past 2 years.

The whole scene was way different than any I've experienced. The place was full of hipsters, scenesters, and indie rockers.

even Tae was there... :P

... you get the idea. I'm not sure why they're called 'hipsters' 'cause every last one of them I encountered was really chill, down to earth, and didn't mind answering the repeated questions I had about the scene LOL. Anyway, on to vids...

Boys Noize spinning 'Technologic'

Boys Noize spinning ID????

Para One spinning ID????

Para One spinning 'Dun Dun Dun'

Para One spinning ID?????

closing the night, Lauren Flax spinning ID????

Lauren Flax spinning ID????

Lauren Flax spinning ID?? ... ID??

I talked for a bit with Alex (Boys Noize) after his set was over and he was just chillin' in the place. He remembered me from Studio B in December. He said he's shooting for his LP to be released in May/June so he'll be back in NYC spinning around then. Can't wait!

Oh yeah, he had on this sick shirt that had an equalizer on it that moved and responded to music and sound only. I should've recorded it but I just took a pic.

Next up... Justice, SebastiAn, DJ Medhi, Busy P, and The Presets on the 29th!! I'm stoked!

Ppl going to WMC should try to catch them ALL there!

LOL, that's Steve Aoki. His sister is Devon Aoki, who you may remember from Sin City or from her cosmetics modeling gigs.

I saw this shirt for sale at least 6 months ago and Barosoap told me that she'd disown me if I bought and wore that shirt.

I definitely asked him where he got the shirt. He said a friend made that one for him, so he didn't buy it anywhere, to my dismay.

It was good to see them out live, but I have a feeling that they're one of those live acts that if you've seen them once, that's enough. The set was pretty much identical to what's on their Essential Mix from last July.

By the way, I told Jay on Friday when he stopped by to tell you that these guys were doing another gig that night because they couldn't leave NYC due to the weather, but he didn't have your number.
