Serato or Ableton?

So if i were gonna go the laptop dj route what are the pros and cons of these two?Wich one would you suggest?

Serato is more for people who already mix on turntables, but want to have access to their digital library. If you're going laptop only I'd go with Ableton.

I would agree. Since I learned to spin on turntables, I was looking into getting Serato so I could play mp3's. Then 'Darth Jonas' turned me to the Darkside with his CDJ's.

Just be like Jonathan Peters & buy 50 laptops so you can run Serato, Ableton, Traktor, Reason, Winamp visualizations, iTunes, windows media player, and do a virus scan at the same time...and a few more for shopping at Beatport while you play.

i saw that serato being used yesterday and I got to admit looks clean as fuck alot more interaction than albeton, its like all portable music library without heavy ass vinyls and cds.

Every thursday afternoon the ivory/ebony sorority (dont know the greeks to it) at UH gathers up a lil' gig at the university center and they set up the turntables and use serato. I still don't understand how all that works if they have a mixer already put in place there.

carry all ur music in just a laptop. instead of carrying a record box full of music that u gotta drag from here to there.

serato pretty much is mp3s on turntables. its really really kool
