SVD VS Sean tyas whos the next top dj?

one of them one is bound to break in to the top 10 this year, both are rising stars...

me personally i prefer sander because his identity mixes are all pretty good.

but i prefer seans remixes more even though the control freak remix was my fav track of last year, sean is more consistent on tracks.

I wonder what Sean Tyas is like under the influence of ritalin.

Posted by idoru on Mar-21-2007 03:05:

Neither.

Posted by shuni on Mar-21-2007 03:07:

sander all the way

If these guys are competing for anything it's "Who's pandering to the lowest common denominator more thoroughly?"

In my eyes, that's a race that's still just too close to call.

If I really really had to choose... it'd be Sander.

He's different. And his Identity mixes are great.

Sander is the future of trance

Posted by josh rising on Mar-21-2007 03:28:

hopefully neither...

same logic as who would you rather fuck in the ass. rose o'donnel or paula cole. it's lose-lose, but i had to choose, i'd do paula cole. so Sander would be my vote.

Here's a wild idea... give us who you think is the next big DJ.

Tyas is shit, that is pretty obvious. Why the hate for Sander though?

Here's an even wilder idea... tell us why there should be a "next big DJ"? Why not just let DJs be DJs instead of, "OMG NUMBER ONE!!!!!!"?

Posted by jupiterone on Mar-21-2007 04:18:

Probably DJ Keoki

His productions and DJ sets are cold, mechanical, directionless, and bland.

I've expanded on this many times before, but his popularity (and in general, his revered status with "trancers") is an absolute mystery to me.

i thought his remix of Control Freak was rather "ill."
some of his ideas are kinda "whack", just like most of Sean Tyas' productions.
I'd file SVD him under "most promising"

also, while i find most of SVD's music very bland, i find the production values to be immensely clean. Either he spends 10x more time mastering his shit or someone gave him $10000000000000 to buy studio equipment?

Posted by jupiterone on Mar-21-2007 04:46:

Well just because someone has, say half a million dollars worth of professional monitoring and studio equipment won't make them a good musician. I think Sander is an alright producer, I'm not into trance anymore. I think most people first get into trance then expand their musical horizons into more creative and deeper styles of music. I think he has the knowledge when it comes to producing though, that or he just pays professional engineers to master and mix his productions.

get out of here with your ignorance.

I could have sworn we were talking about DJs.

Chances are after the summer no one will remember them. Maybe Sander Van Doorn...he's been around longer so I'd guess his staying power is better. Either way, I predict that the top list this year will be mostly techno djs. Don't know why.

It's not really ignorance. Ignorance means having a lack of knowledge, I'm pretty sure he knows how Tyas sounds like compared to Sander. It's just a matter of musical taste and opinion which we all have.

You'll die

i think guyz like them will never be #1 IMO .

Posted by drivingforce on Mar-21-2007 07:00:

i liked sander under his sam sharp alias more when he did tracks with rvdb...driving trance tracks that were really good...now his tracks are just ehhhh...nothing amazing, his newest tune back by any demand isn't that great in my opinion. But his sets are pretty decent.

Sean Tyas-Real driving tracks, but has had a kind of cookie cutter way with productions. Love them all but very similar. Dj sets, very slamming tracks one after another.

Both are different styles so its hard to say who's goign to be top 10. One pertains to a techier side and one more to driving side. Both are good in their own element imo. But Christopher Lawrence owns them both
