Auditory high?

So my friend was tlleing me about this site he found that has sounds that let you simulate drug trips. something about when you listen in headphones and you get 2 diffrent bpm's in each ear, i guess its supposed to fuck u up. any one know anything about this or a site where i can check it out? thanks

I thought it would be neat to write a book that teaches you how to harness the Placebo effect. Of course the methods in the book would only work because of the Placebo effect

That actually sounds kind of interesting, but I imagine it takes a fair bit of effort, and even with that effort isn't much of a replacement for the real thing as far as drugs go.

Being high just wouldn't be as fun if you had to put effort into and focus on it.

It's not a placebo. The CD is a result of scientific application of the binaural beats technology. the buzzing sounds that you hear cause a beating phenomenon and the low frequency waves generated as a result affect the mental states. Brain wave is a measure of the electrical activity of neurons. Different range of brain wave frequencies signify different type of human activity. An Alpha state (8-12 Hz of measured activity) relates to a relaxed mental state and so on.

Binaural sounds generate binaural beats. In this process, you hear (say) 400 Hz sound wave in one ear, and 410 Hz in the other. The two waves mix and the brain perceives a very low frequency wave of 10 Hz. The 10 Hz wave stimulates the brain to enter into an alpha state. By using different types of audio waves (sine, triangle, etc) and in different frequency ranges, they can stimulate the brain to enter into different mental states and thus make you feel relaxed, or get you into meditative mood and so on.
