Damn you chinese cooks!

Damn it!

I got my first taste of sweet and sour pork about 10 days ago in a crooked looking Chinese restaurant.

I don't know what they put in there (maybe crack) but since I've been eating it every second day and craving it so badly every day that I'm not eating it.

<--- Needs help... pronto, I'm a sweet and sour pork addict.

What you thought was a sprinkling of sesame seeds was actually crack rock....hence your addiction. Studies have found that crack makes for a much more enjoyable eating exeperience than MSG....go figure

Chinese food maybe bad for your health according to a study that finds that it contains a high level of sodium and calories

A new study finds that Chinese food is unhealthy for you. According to a consumer group, Chinese food has a tendancy to be high in fat, high in sodium and high in calories.

"I don't want to put all the blame on Chinese food," said Bonnie Liebman, nutrition director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest. "Across the board, American restaurants need to cut back on calories and salt, and in the meantime, people should think of each meal as not one, but two, and bring home half for tomorrow," Liebman said.

It is estimated that the average adult needs to consume roughly 2000 calories, and 2300 ml of salt daily, both of which are found in large quantities in certain types of Chinese food.

Eating a diet high in sodium has been known to raise a person's risk of hypertention, or high blood pressure.

The researchers state that not much has changed since Chinese food was studied 15 years ago.

"We were glad not to find anything different," Liebman said. "Some restaurant food has gotten a lot worse. Companies seem to pile on. Instead of just cheesecake,
you get coconut chocolate chip cheesecake with a layer of chocolate cake, and lasagna with meatballs."

The researchers emphasize that not all Chinese food is bad for you. "The good thing about Chinese food is that you can get vegetable-rich dishes, and it's got the kind of fat that isn't bad for your heart."

the food most north americans call "chinese food" is not what real chinese people eat. do you honestly think they eat sweet and sour pork or chicken balls everyday? lol. real chinese diet consists of lots of vegetables, fish etc.

shark fin is the biggest waste as a delicacy. there is no flavour to it.
abalone is good though.

there is a chinese soup called "fut tiu cheung" which means monk jumps over wall. the reason for this name is they put so much chinese delicacy (most of which caucasians would find disgusting and, no, there is not dog or cat or rat or squirrel or anything of that sort in it) in this soup that it makes monks jump over walls to get at it. when my mom makes it, all the ingredients she puts in it makes a bowl (about 400mL) cost about $30 and she makes a huge pot at a time. its good stuff but not something i would eat often. once a year is good enough for me.

when i was down in tampa 2 years ago, i did some fishing off of skyway fishing pier and this guy a few spots over caught an 8 foot shark. once he brought it up using a tow truck and 6 guys, they cut it up but left the fin. being with my uncle and family (chinese) we were like wtf... they just left the shark fin. so we went back to his mansion and cooked up some super super fresh shark fin soup.. oh was that every tasty.

I had it at a wedding in the summer. No offence to the Chinese, but I almost puked.

I'll see if my brother still has it and if he could tell me the name and author. I know it was a fairly thin book and about the size of a Robert Munch Book - probably a bit taller.
