Secondhand smoke

When parents smoke indoors around their kids, is it a form of child abuse?

Of course it is - Morally, ethically, technically and literally.

Indeed - And parents like those should be executed via suffocation.

It's wrong in any way shape or form.

Luckily my mother never smoked, at all.

maybe not legally.

all the kids i grew up with who had smoker parents that smoked in the house were SOOOO adamant about never becoming smokers... so i guess it could be good, in a way.

but yeah, it's fucked up... i feel bad even smoking around my cat!

My dad smoked when we were kids, but never in the house... he wasn't even "allowed" to smoke According to mom... but by end of high school id havre a smoke with my parents, they were super light smokers and it was no big deal. meh

my parents have always smoked untill 3 years ago.. i was so sick of it as a child, that yes ive decided to never smoke.

My old man had smoked for 20+ years before I was born. For the first few months that I was making my mark on the world he would go outside for a cheeky puff. After 8 or 9 months of me being alive though he'd managed to quit. I must have threatened to deck him or something?

In all seriousness fair play to the guy.

kinda reminds me of that commerical for anti-smoking where the baby was in the backseat crying as the parent smoked in the front seat. ugh. gross.

that's my case, my mum used to smoke about 20 a day & it was a gross smell, it stank everywhere & I hated it so much. In the end she had a health scare which did enough in the fact it made her book her ideas up & she stopped about 12 years ago now. Fresh air is so much nicer. Some ignorant couple were smoking in a restaurant in spain and my brother managed to sneeze & in doing so tip a pint over her dress. 1-0 to the good guys.

I'm an on/off smoker I've always had to smoke in Garden unless it was severly p*ssing it down with rain, then I'd be able to stand by the backdoors. My Dad used to smoke but my Mum hates smoking she made everyone go outside.

Good. That's rude even when I was a heavy smoker I'd go outside for smoke. There is nothing worse the some chav's dressed in their sunday best smoking their cheap scabby two bob Trampbert & Butler cigarettes in a restaurant whilst people are trying to eat.

they were tourists too, and it was rude because numerous tables were eating. As calla said, it's courtesy to go outside, or at least seen that way by the majority of people i've come across in europe. They wouldn't like it if I found some sort of disgusting habit to do while they were eating.

ya same here, well only 1 guys parents smoked that i knew, and he hated the smell....

they were careful ands moked outside.. but he said he could smell it and he would never smoke...

So? It's a public restaurant that apparently allows smoking. The laws in Spain are very simple if it's the same as the last time I was there, venues are either smoking or non smoking and if it's a smoking venue and you don't like it, get out.

Shit, I'd have done the same thing if smoking was allowed inside. What am I supposed to do? Ask everyone of they've finished? Please.

well sure the signs smoking or non thing is a bit unclear but if you're allowed to smoke well I don't see why customers should b*tch
