Review: Tiesto At Setai
what a fucking joke this event was. seriously. my girlfriend won the contest from his website so we were all excited. the show was supposed to start at 7 and we got there around 6:45 and just walked in without them even checking us off the list. anyone could of walked right in until they finally setup a list outside. there were a ton of people at the bar that werent supposed to be there but were there anyway.
the event was really only for the media, invites, and the contest winners, but there were tons of rich kids running around. i hate that fucking shit. they think they got more right than i do to be up front by tiesto cuz they got money but dont even know one song from tiesto other than traffic or lethal industry. fuck those kids. once mommy and daddys money runs out they'll be fucked.
the event was supposed to held outside (which would have been REALLY fucking awesome cuz of the atmosphere) but cuz there were crazy wind gusts (felt like 30-40mph to be honest) they moved the event inside. when we got there they were still setting the decks and lights up. the decks were setup in basically a hallway. it was such crap. so we waited until about 8 when finally SOME music started (they started playing his new elements of life cd). then some fat fucking old guy came on around 8:30 or 9 and proceeded to play one of the worst sets ever. just ripped off what other house djs play. i hate djs like that, they have NO style of their own. the funny thing is people were actually dancing. lol.
so after getting there so early and the bullshit setup, we get fed up and decide to leave around 10:15, when as we're leaving tiesto FINALLY fucking shows up. and trust me, for my girlfriend to want to leave tiesto before he shows up says a lot about the place. so finally he comes on, we squished our way to the semi-front where EVERYBODY had their fucking cameras out so no one could take a decent picture, and the fat fucking smelly ass media assholes just basically climbed over everybody. we stayed for about an hour, got some decent pics and vids, but a lot of shitty ones. tiesto started with 4 straight elements of life tracks and then played a bit more housey before we left.
we left around 11:20 cuz tiestos public relations guy or something, whatever some guy that sucks his dick, is a real fucking dick. cant blame tijs, but fucking a bro, this event was such self masturbation its not even funny.

well.... i think this event wasn't that great for you because you didnt belong to the crowd that gathered there. Just as half of the people who for some reason happened to be there.
That's why it is a private party. Looking at picture of you with your GF i would def recommend you to skip events like this in the future.
I am done with posting reviews but after reading such a lie, i need to say something. Event was supposed to be held outside but indeed, due to weather it was moved inside. You complained that you showed up at 6. 45 and music started at 8, so what? Do you know the capacity of the inside and outside venues? Would you be rather come earlier and see something or arrive later and didn't have a chance to get in just because the capacity wouldn't allow any more people in the lobby. Have you seen hundreds people waiting outside to get in?
We all showed up earlier and went to Setai restaurant? Why didn't you do that? They serve by far one of the best food in SoBe!
The "old fucking dude" who played an openning for Tijs was great. That's why people danced. He started at 8.10 pm and not at 8.45 pm. You have to provide at least a few videos or a track list to make people believe that he sucked because he didn't. You, with your little angry comments, showed just how much tastless a person can be.
Tijs started shortly after 10 and played till 1 am. Yes, there were a lot of cameras and media people but why do you need to stay right in front if you could hear everything from the back? Why does everybody need to stand by the f..ing dj's face? We moved back and enjoyed the music. That's all about music.
It was a great night and all the people who came with me had fun, all but you and your GF, maybe it's a sign that you need to think that MAYBE something is wrong with you, not with the rest of the world.

good for her for winning an admission but too bad she had to write so many lies about what happened. I bet they didn't think there would be some other people who attended the venue. And no personal attacs, but as i said before, some people just didn't fit in to this crowd.

Whatever happened to this poor girl must have not been good. I'm curious to know, but I guess we should respect her wishes. I can also understand about the boyfriend being upset about it, more so than she seems. I can also get protective of my wife.
It's too bad becasue this type of event should be a fun easy going atmosphere. We should all be happy that we were invited. It's not a question of who is rich or poor or who has the "biggest hard on" or gets the "wettest" for tiesto - to be vulgar about it. Just becasue one is rich or poor does not make one a bad person. I also have never believed that just becasue you are a new fan, it doesn't make you any less of a fan. Of course it's nice to see someone who has been a dedicated fan for years, but does it really mattter, if the point is to have a good time. As I'm sure some of you know, the Setai is one of the top hotels in Miami. I'm not rich, but I put on a nice collared shirt that night - the only time I did all week.
As for Miss requiemofnanqel, she seems like a decent girl. So much in fact that's why she won her chance to attend. The funny thing is that the "old guy" was probably at least partly responsible for her winning. The old guy, DjLeblanc, really isn't that old. He just has greyer/whiter hair and and a big beer gut. So what if he really was old ? Our Dad's are old, Sasha's Dad is old. Djleblanc played good tracks and he wasn't there to rock the house or steal anyone's thunder. Go download his monthly mixes on his website. They are really good IMO.
Oh, crap, I lost my train of thought (please no train wreck jokes here), so I'll just say that, Pat, you are wrong about most of the assumptions you are making, most of which I don't think I need to correct in a public forum, but I can certainly understand you're coming to the defense of your woman. I've read or noticed some of your other posts in different topics and it's all good. It's too bad, becasue this was just meant to a nice chill fun event for all of us. For us it was good chance to see old friends, catch up with some of the industry folks, and meet new ones, while listening to Tiesto's new tracks in a nice setting at the Setai. It really would have been better if the event had been held outside where there was so much more space and they they could have set up much more production, but they can't control the weather. They were so stressed about this, becasue they do care.
Oh, a couple of more things. I don't think that Miss Sveta, should be saying that a girl should not have been there. That's not right ansd she she knows better. I'm sure her apology is sincere.
But Sveta is not a tiesto whore nor anybody elses either.
So my wife made fun of "the King" thing directly to Tiesto. They joked about it and he was laughing at himself as well. Oh, I loved the way he played after hours - maybe I'll write about it in the other thread.

Sorry man, but you sound awfully bitter and judgemental in your post... bunch of rich kids running around blah blah blah.. they have as much right to be there as you did.. and then you go and complain about everyone having their cameras and phones up blocking everything taking pictures, yet you yourself have numerous pics of tiesto from what seems like the front of the booth
