I don't even know how to start or what to say about this party...

It was amazing, beautiful, energetic... EVERYTHING! I've seen Armin over 30 times and this has to be one of the best sets I've seen of his...

I cried at the end.... 7 FUCKING CITIES

Posted by Gjorgji on Mar-24-2007 04:39:

I will just say: ARMIN = GOD!

btw. I lost my memory stick into the club. If somebody found it, pls post the pics and videos

What a great show! I have never seen Armin before, I listen to his work quite often however. I have never, and I mean NEVER, seen a DJ be so emotionally involved with his music. His facial expressions, as well as his movements/dancing really did it for me. The crowd was great, the atmosphere was fun and casual....

I thought he recovered perfectly after the power went out (for those of you not attending, the power suddenly cut off for all of The Pawn Shop for probably 10 minutes)....

GREAT SHOW---- Can't wait to see Armin again, whenever that may be...!

Ryan

Decent party. Good set by Armin. But being a regular terrace verteran, I have to say that I think Armin missed an opportunity for a legendary night. Terrace sets are supposed to be different than your main room sets. No jesus poses in every breakdown. No hands in the air on every emotional melody. Instead terrace sets are supposed to have the feeling of the DJ partying with the crowd. Legendary terrace sets usually have jam sessions with unannounced DJs. (Think Sasha and Deep Dish tag teaming on the Space terrace at WMC 2005). Instead of Armin up on stage all by himself for 5 hours, he should have welcomed all of the other artists and DJs up on stage and partied up there with him. Even thrown tag team style with Cosmic gate and Markus Schulz who were there as well. That would have made for a legendary party. Trance DJs need to learn what the house DJs have been doing to rock the terrace and follow suit. It works.

first of all... it was on a terrace yes, but it wasn't a "terrace set", it was an outdoor set.

and about inviting other djs up there... what part of armin only do you not get? that was the point. i don't know what your interpretation is of ONLY but i know I would've personally been pissed if he suddenly started tag teaming when I paid for an armin only set

Posted by DarkAngel on Mar-24-2007 18:04:

Armin doesn't play "terrace" sets like that fuckin' shit you're accustomed to hearing on the le Space trash terrace, fyi. Try again.

We're missing the very boring first 2 hours (or so) in the tracklist above... Never thought I'd hear Armin play electro/funky/house/whatever, but he started (inside for the first 50 minutes) very slowly Thank god there was a bus to sit in with my Treo through that!

It was a good set outdoors, but too standard for my taste; like an extended ASOT. Nowhere near the epic levels of his Independence Day 2006 show in San Francisco, where he threw in classics and other stuff not from the current month's ASOT playlist.

Still, got to give him as much credit as Tisto for spinning more than 5 hours straight. With special thanks for playing Rush Hour at my request (Sander says it's supposed to come out next month... I'll believe it when I see it ) That tune and Year Zero were the standouts for me.

Also in attendance: Cerf, Mitiska, and Jaren (who didn't even know about this show until I told them as I was heading out of my hotel ), though they missed Armin playing their current tune. They have another one coming really soon And, and, and... the lovely Carrie Skipper who's working on new (darker) tunes with Markus.

And speaking of the devil (who shook my hand after ignoring me for a year ), what a difference a year make: I wouldn't have had such a good time without Elevation's help Thank you, Mike, you are a great person (and talented artist)! I was soooooo wrong about you last year; I'm ashamed

BTW, anyone knows what was up with the cinder blocks on the roof above Armin's head???

Well, this wasn't billed as "Armin Only" technically speaking. Even then, Armin does team up with other artists at Armin Only shows (Rank 1, Justine Suissa, Jan Vayne, his own brother, etc)

That said, I think that having artists show up on stage or pointing at them in the crowd was more than enough for that show

Wow you guys are freakin touchy anytime somebody says anything you dont agree with. I said it was a decent party. Get over the fact I also have an opnion on what I would liked to see.
