can someone help me out (decks advice)

hi look i have a a fair bit of vinyl now and i really wanna take the plunge into getting some decks i saw these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI...&item=856066880 and they got me thinking there are some technics up tehre too but they are going for almost 800 dollars and there are heaps of people intrested in them so i dunno if i can get some these on the other hand seemed like a pretty good solution for me just starting out and then i saw it was belt driven belive me ive read up and i know perils of belt driven tts but i really just wanna play my tunes can someone tell me if these tables are decent enough to play on? or are they not even worth my time just asking cause im really keen ta!

To be honest, if you actually want to mix with these turnatables, then they're not worth the time and money. Belt driven decks really are a no-no for DJ decks. You'll be able to learn the basics on them, yes, but after about two weeks you'll have outgrown them and you'll need direct drive to progress any further.

If you really do want to become a DJ (if you do, then you'll know what I mean) then it really *is* worth saving and waiting until you can afford to buy some Technics. Don't be afraid of buying second-hand Technics - as long as the platter still goes round, then they're perfect. Technics don't wear out.

Happy saving!
