Vinyl - CDs - MP3s

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but does anyone use vinyl anymore??

Most people I chat to these days (either online or out and about) use CD mixers and/or programs such as Ableton.

Is vinyl a dead art now? Should I invest in other means to mix? What are the benefits and the downsides of using software programs or cd's?
