I'm not embarassed to ask...

Hey great community of tranceaddict, well I want to ask you all
a question that has been bothering me for a while,
I' starting to play a certain style of music at this club here in Brazil and I've been having a hard time choosing new stuff like this on the record stores, that's because everybody tells me a different name for it but I can't really label it exactly so that I can start ordering my vinyls properly, I used to be a progressive house/ trance DJ but at the moment, I'm pretty much choosing my stuff by ear, can you help me acctually, name the exact name of the style that I'm playing?
I'm not embarassed to say that at the moment i don't have a name for the style I play, here's an usual set that I bring to the dancefloor:

Marco V - Godd
Warmdusher - Hardcore Will Never Die
Nic Vegter - Artificial Intelligence (V-Mix)
Boca - Miami
The Dubious Brothers - Sonic Cathedral
A.S.Y.S. - Acid Nightmare (Warmduscher Remix)
Black Money - White Powder (dj gert vs bonka rmx)
Damn Noa - Home (Marco V's V.Ision Remix)
Desert - Lettin Ya Mind Go (King Unique Dirty Dub)
DJ Reeloop - Fucking Society (Chromedioxid II Remix)
Joy Kittikonti - Joy Energizer (Psico mix)
Lords of Acid - I Sit On Acid (Mickey Blotter Mix)
Maurice - Feline - (hybrid re-mix)
Max Graham - Boy Versus Girls (Peace Division Mix)
SALAM - Arabian Fever (Bonus Beat Mix)
Sharpside - Space Cruising
Speedy J - Electric Deluxe
The Neanderthal - Animal
Wally Lopez and DR Kucho - House Park

Please, I really need and identity, you don't know how stupid It is when someone comes up to you and ask, wow, what kind of style do you play? ( by the way, if you have any other suggestions to what else should I buy in the same line, please, leave me the names, cus it's getting really hard finding stuff down here like that only by listenning to what's available at the store,
Thanks, keep up the great work at this site, It has saved my life a couple of times with Id's and etc...
See ya !

I want to know too, i thought it hasn't been released yet..

Posted by djkenusaykenny on Apr-06-2002 06:15:

At www.bside.com.br

and I don't think is progressive, I think it's harder than that
progressive is what i used to play, stuff like,
tijuana - groove is in the air
b.o.n.n.y. - the hurricane
satoshi tommie - love in traffic
M.I.K.E. - Deepest Jungle
Lil Mo Yin Yang - Reach
Part N One vs INXS - I'm So Crazy
Max Linnen - The Soulshaker
etc...

any suggestions in the same Marco V / Warmdusher stuff I originally posted??

It's been released a while ago. I have it on Silver Premium. Also check out his tunes Return to eden (on same vinyl as overkill), Above and Feelings

Definately a TECH-Trance feel to that set!

I apreciatted the help, would you all say that for example
Warmdusher at goliath 9 (the 58:59 minutes set) would you say that he's a Tech-trance DJ????
that's pretty much my style right now...

(please keep up with some names for the tunes, you have no idea how much you're helping me already and also bringing that style indirectly down here to the clubs !!! he he he
When I say that this site is great, people don't believe me!!!

just a thought on that maurice - feline

i dont think there IS a hybrid remix, i dont know where they came up with that from because its the exact same track as the original.
strange.

also, its not breaks, and hybrid = breaks.

Posted by Biohazard on Apr-06-2002 22:40:

dude.. you playing A bit like marco V !

Posted by integrity1 on Apr-06-2002 23:47:

keeping it on the hard side! nice!

Posted by Cobalt on Apr-07-2002 03:58:

This subject has bothered me a bit too. I tend to lean towards hard trance in my music preference, but sometimes what I'm listening to doesn't exactly fit that label.

I tire of attaching all these words in front of "trance," as in hard-progressive-melodic-blahblahblah-trance. Would be nice to see a new term emerge, not to get away from the word "trance", but to simplify the naming process.

How exactly would one describe Marco V's sets? Or some of PVD's banging sets from a couple years ago, like Mayday 2000?

Posted by ExOn on Apr-07-2002 05:11:

Hmm this is like tech-trance leaning to hard trance.
Nice to see someone spin the hard stuff for a change.

could you by any chance make a rip of this?

Posted by djkenusaykenny on Apr-07-2002 06:07:

Hey... thats great to see that i'm not the only one that likes it!
not that i don't like trance, of course I do, but It's good to see that other people are changing info on it and yeah it would be nice to have a label for that style, for example what would ya call Warmdusher??? a trance DJ? I don't think so!
What did you mean by rip davinox ? convert it to mp3??
