SOS at Fifth

holy shit

5 hour set at least, got there at midnight and they didn't stop until 5. NONSTOP bomb after bomb with NO breakdowns just nonstop action. all three of them were tag teaming all night screwing around with each other's songs bouncing off each other.

besides sasha @ cavo in Mykonos which is just legendary for me now, this was the best party I've been to since the Sasha/Digweed yacht party last year. I'm SO GLAD I went to this and not luke fair.

there were two bad songs the entire night and I was grateful for them because it gave me a chance to sit down. I've never danced that hard or that long at a party before, ever.

pics/vids to come. passing out now, BEST SHOW IN THE LAST YEAR BY FAR!

based on their latest Electronic Groove Podcast... I believe you.

Posted by charon on Mar-25-2007 19:28:

Their encore/last track was 31:20 into "Demi, Omid & Desyn Masiello aka SOS - Perceptions on ProtonRadio - 25-09-06". That track, with the blue disco ball going (videos coming) was the highlight of the night.

and garth and myra.... I'm happy I didn't go to luke, cafeteria sucks.

Glad to hear they tore it. Was debating this vs. Armin. Either way Sat night was slammin in Miami.

+1... best night of WMC for me. Missed the first two hours unfortunately, but the progression from 2am on was absolutely unbelievable - that 3x6 setup was fantastic. Great note to wrap WMC 2007 up on.

The Fifth is fantastic too. Good crowd, good sound, nice venue... didn't run into any juiced up security guards or giant egos all night. Will definitely be returning to this venue in 2008.

SOS last night was some of the sickest mixing i have ever heard. these three guys know how to rock it. However it is that they do what they do it just fucking works. They closed it out with sax tracks which was the only song i wanted to hear them play which was fucking awesome.

Posted by nrjizer on Mar-26-2007 09:37:

Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhh

More (a LOT more) to come...

Posted by trancEyes22 on Mar-26-2007 14:29:

that track is sick...wtf is it???!!!?!!?!?

Posted by lcid on Mar-26-2007 15:28:

hahaha did they wear matching button-down shirts this year? last year was hilarious with the matching ponchos.

glad to hear they rocked it!

Musically this was the best party of the conference for me. Better than the S&D yacht party setwise.

Posted by sot on Mar-26-2007 20:53:

haha yess

that vid was the last track they played..that insane saxaphone track, no idea what it is.

man this party was my fav i think of all the ones i went to musically. i loved every track that was played, had nonstop energy throughout there set. only thing that sucked was the insaneee drink prices this place had, 10 bux for an 8oz bottle of water, wtf are u on? lol

Was there.First time hearing the trio, have heard Deslyn and Demi before on their own.Didn't know what to expect so I went with no expectations. And enjoyed very much what I heard. It was interesting seeing 3 djs work together and keeping up with one another.Great energy, good vibe, only complaint is the sound system. That club has mad potential.

I got a lot more pics and videos, I'm working on them now (I have been awake since 2pm yesterday, rofl).

Massive.

I don't have a youtube account and I really like this vid so i upped it to megaupload (its one of nrjizer's). I believe this was the last track. (the other video was the encore).

Lemme tell you, that blue disco ball was FREAKING INCREDIBLE . This video doesn't do it justice. The whole club was dark except for this blue disco ball spinning around. They saved it for the last track, which was very classy IMO. And can anyone ID this track?

Great party for sure. Got there around 12:30 and the door staff was very nice.....got right in no problems at all. They even let my friend come in as my plus one even though I didn't have one.....I guess that kinda made up for the overpriced drinks. $10 for water and $11 for Corona.....insane!!! SOS started off slow but they built the set as the club filled up. By 2am I was really diggin it. Lots of new tracks.....I didn't know 3/4s of the tracks played. Desyn, Demi, and Omid were all having a great time playing. I got to meet Sasha's dad (Mr. Coe) for the first time....really nice guy and can hang with the best of us. This party by far had the best eye candy out of all the parties I went to. I was all night!!!

Posted by GUBostonDubs on Mar-27-2007 05:45:

I had a blast at this party even though originally I wanted to go see Burridge. He can wait until another time. The fifth is a pretty cool club and Desyn/Demi/Omid ROCKED it...I MEAN ROCKED IT. I dont give that kind of praise too lightly either.

some spots

John Dahlback - If You Give Me
Shlomi Aber - Crop Duster
Moby - Go (Trentemoller Remix)

Posted by charon on Mar-27-2007 06:06:

played nastic&nasty - bordel (SOS edit) also

Posted by nrjizer on Mar-27-2007 06:12:

Other tracks I heard:

Marc Romboy - Shake It (right as we walked in--AWESOME)
Deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin (I believe the second track we heard)
Smith & Selway - Work It (Deetron Mix)
That "one time for the underground" track from their EM
Omid 16B - On Da Way
Q-Force - Obsession (Pierre J Mix)
Bitter Sweet - Dirty Laundry (Tom Middleton Remix)

Man... I *KNEW* I heard that Dirty Laundry track SOMEWHERE... well, I get home today and get on my decks... turns out I bought it a month ago and forgot about it. Durrrrrrr.

Btw, someone ID this amazing track. This actual recording was from the Desyn solo the following night @ Victor Hotel, but the track was played at Fifth near the very end (I only got a brief clip of it, this one gets a lot more of the song)
