Booka Shade @ Avalon

Great live performance! I was amazed how well in time the drummer was, he didnt drift with his buddy once. They played some great songs...their encore turned into +5 including body language...that was fun. Avalon is still fucking boring otherwise

I should've gone yesterday. The party I was at last night was whack. It was overcrowded with a bunch of drunk high school kids that spill beer all over your shoes. At least the fight that broke out made my night.

Why did everyone leave so early last night?! You missed out on Mr. C, and Droogs closing set!! Booka Shade was great last night, but I was a little dissapointed that they only played for an hour. It's ok though, Mr. C & Droog made up for it.

Me & Anna stayed as long as we could, until our legs just couldn't stand up any longer. We couldn't walk by the end of the night lol

I was tired and I had no money left for drinks

Hotdog outside was awesome.

Clovito, that show was so BADASS! Booka were so good! They were in perfect sync/timing with each other ... and the sound was great. I agree, the crowd was whack and there was too many people, but it was worth it for Booka. Droog played a pretty slammin' set too. I checked out a few of Mr. C's tracks and then bounced. Clovis and I were doing the Booka boogie!

I melted like the wicked witch of the west when I heard:
- Darko
- Night Falls
- Body Language
- In White Rooms
- Mandarine Girl

One of the best live performances I've been too. Next time I'd like to see them for a DJ set. That would be very naaaaaaaaaaaaaice.

Droog had the main room packed till like 6:15am. I can't believe me & Anna lasted that late. haha

Thanks again, Julia! I owe you a drink for that favor.

I'm not as hardcore as I used to be, so I only lasted til a little after Booka Shade's set.

Posted by R!CH on Mar-25-2007 21:11:

only 1 hour?

Posted by bas on Mar-25-2007 22:07:

Too drunk too quick

But Booka Shade played some MONSTER tracks. There were two that didn't sound like their usual stuff, loved it!

The washers were in full force last night! I laughed so hard. There were these triple-threat washers washing it up. I wanted to give them some detergent.

Posted by R!CH on Mar-25-2007 22:29:

how the fuck do you wash to booka shade

Oh shit that was hilarious! I haven't seen washers in I don't know how many months. The last time I went to Avalon was in May

well i'm kinda late on this review.....but

Booka definatly rocked it. I had an awsome time. I had a crazy day, and barely made it out for the show, but I'm so glad I did. It was great to see everyone, Clovis, Bas, Tigo, Julia, Anna, Thrax, Kfrogger (and anyone else I forgot to mention )
The crowd there was kinda a downer, but thats Avalon for you, and it wasn't anything worse than I expected. The TA's there made up for it.

I wish I were coming back for Danny. Oh well. I don't know the next time I'll be back. Maybe sometime in late April.

Booka Shade was tyte, though I was hoping they'd play at least two hours...

The Terrace DJ with the white hat was not tyte. He had great beat-mis-matching, though.
