Your best and worst of WMC 2007

Well, it's almost over by now

I think we can all agree that weather would fall in the worst of category!

The best--or maybe I should say least worst --event I went to was Armin @ The Pawnshop Lounge Friday (just for everything that happened there).

The worst would have to be... Ti�sto @ Mansion Saturday (I'll try to write a short review if no one else does).

What about everyone else?

best: oaky @ i love tennis and andy moor @ cafeteria, just because i'm a huge fan of AVA and i love hearing classics ... and perhaps A&B at the Apple Store even though i only saw/heard the last two tracks, but they were fun to talk with after the set

worst: forgetting to wear sunscreen for ultra because i didn't want to miss svd's early morning set, at least i didn't get soaked like everyone else (btw, vip wasn't worth the extra money, good thing i didn't pay and just walked in there :P)

Sunday School was once again the best party I went to all week. There were no spur of the moment surprise dj sets like last year, but it still pwnd everything else I went to.

BEST: Motion (A&B, SvD, B&J, Tiesto) @ Karu, Ultra, Armin @ Pawnshop, WetGrooves @ Shelbourne

WORST: WetGrooves Sexy Fuck @ Ink, the Rain @ Ultra, and Rabbit in the Moon (who the fuc* was this guy, I had to leave main stage since I was scared as shit when I saw him)

Best : Ferry Corsten @ Cameo !!!!! .. BBC radio1 @ Surfcomber!!, Sander van Doorn @ The fifth, Fatboy Slim @ Ultra, and Wetwgrooves opening Pool Party ( where Oakenfold actually played good )
Honorable mention to the Night Tennis with Oakey. The concept and organization's idea was pretty cool. Having free drinks all night was pretty cool and so was the music, bunch of drunks everywhere though .

WORST: The weather, it ruined the vibe and killed a lot of parties.. and made it hard to party @ Ultra if you were not willing to get sick .

I want to hear how the other parties went and what-not.

And to ULTRA: They were very organized this year, timeslots were on time and I didn't see massive lines... only problem that Ultra has phased for the first time was the rain issue, other then that, a festival cant be a true festival with at least one chaotic rain on their day, which made it more fun for a lot of the people there, including myself ( not for my gf though heh )

Overall, Im happy with the selection of parties I attended this year. I went with my gut feelings this year, and that made this my first true WMC experience.. and I'm happy with it. I'm sure that if the weather was nice, it would have been even better.
I avoided Space and the expensive parties. Corsten was perhaps the most expensive and it was top 2 on my list. WoW

BEST: Above & Beyond @ BED & Armada Night @ Twilo.

WORST: Heh. I'm not gonna reveal that one.

Best: SOS @ The Fifth (although the LMR party is still to come)
Worst: Space (my first and last time there - the most overrated venue in the world)

Sucks for those that paid that outrageous door price. Do a review because no one else has or probably wants to because of the letdown.

For me the best party was Armada Night, which I think was one of the better parties this city has seen for a long time.

Best: Automatic Slims 80's party with Lee Burridge and Danny Howells. So fun, and amazing pics.

Worst: Yoshitoshi @ Space. Even though I was already paid to photograph there for Deep Dish, the security refused to let me back in the booth after I left to take a walk after getting pics of Paolo Mojo and Dubfire.

Best/Worst combo: Rain at Ultra. Hybrid got canceled in the middle of thier first song by stage managers, but I got some fun Sasha & Digweed rain pics!

Best

- Oakenfold at the B-Live Event (Oakey and that Orchestra had a crowd of 3000 by the balls and I can honestly say was fully on point)

- Setai Hotel Friday Night (the was some record release party there but the vibe was going off with a great crowd and no BS)

- Nexxt Cafe (great food, with great prices and a serious servings that you can never finish with a menue that has everythign you can think of)

- Tantra Monday nights (never any star talent but the place is always rammed with girls, great house music and a bad ass bongo player that lights the place up)



Worst

- Anything at the Shelbourne (shitbourne as I say as that place is pure trash)

- Just the whole confrence in general. This year seemed very midocre and just not even close to last year or the years before.

worst: svd @ fifth was too many cocks lol

Best : dj dan and donald glaude @ am only party , Glass Room ( I like to old stuff) ... also the good vibe from all the people at the clubs, very polite people
and the women always +

the bad: parking, some places I parked where $20 a pop...

S.O.S. @ The Fifth
-Worst - The Hotel we stayed at (Claremont) we fly home tomorrow....thank god...this place is GHETTO

Worst - Kubicle late night party at Goldrush... basically was a brothel with the '9am' looking shift strippers/hookers running around... very interesting party.
Booka Shade, I cant get into the electronic live acts, and they didnt play anything new either.

Overall, it was the best WMC for me in the 4 years I've been going.

best: SANDER VAN DOORN! meeting him, seeing him twice, such a cool fucking guy!

worst: everything else, im getting too old for this shit.

Worst had to be Edgar V opening for PVD.

Imma blog everything tomorrow. Just got back to LA/Santa Barbara tonight but here are my thoughts:

BEST- The beautiful people!! Bless you all!! hahaha
Dekay, Armin, Schulz @ Twilo (I went home when Rank1 came on but the other three leveled the place in my opinion)

WORST- Hands down, the Juicy Beach party. HORRIBLE planning in my opinion if you cant crowd control from the get go. Missing ALL the headliners aside, as we did having showed up at 7pm, Having the party basically shut down for 2.5hrs at night was the stupidest thing ive ever seen. Space doesn't have that problem, neither did Twilo on Saturday night.

no worst cuz I didn't hit up any other parties this year but if I would have spent the ridiculous $80 to see PvD @ Space I'm sure that woulda been my worst

best by far was AVB at Twilo and Gabriel and Dresden at Pawnshop and drinking on the beach at 5am!

I had one of the best WMCs ever. Not only was it super fun taking photos for RA but every party that I went to rocked but the Juicy Party.....Mark Knight was amazing and they had awesome hula hoop dancers but as soon as Gabriel and Dresden came on I wanted to leave....they were horrible.

Danny Howells @ Pawn Shop was SICK and what a party to start off my WMC.
Cielo Party @ The Raleigh Hotel - Teddy Patterson and Behrouz...OMFG!!!....dancing in the sand bare-foot was lots of fun.
DT @ Twilo - Prob the best set this WMC. Danny fucking killed that place with mind blowing TECHNO!!!
Steve Bug @ BED - First time seeing him and he really impressed me.
Sander on the Space Terrace - besides the usual drama at Space, Sanders set was mind blowing.....he played till friggin 2:30!
SOS @ The Fifth - They started off kinda slow but around 2am the place filled up and the music picked up....way up. I was loving it. Got to meet Sasha's dad and holy shit...that old fella can party lol.
Sunday School for Degenerates @ Pawn Shop - Best party this WMC. I was on the patio most of the might but went inside to see Adam Beyer for the first time and could not believe my ears......talk about a mind fuck....WOW!

I didn't have to put up with any drama this year, got to hang out with my friends, got to hit up some wicked parties, got to see my favorite DJs, got to check out some DJs I never saw before, the females were out of control this year, and most important I didn't come home broke!!! I will post my pics soon.

One + One Yacht party with James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli.

Booka Shade live @ Get Physical and Jessie Rose.


Loco Dice, Steve Bug and Martin Buttrich @ Bed.


Mistress Barbara @ Bed...she blew Holden away imo.

Yeah that really sucked about Hybrid, but that breaks tent was fucking rocking in the middle of the downpour during Stanton Warriors - definitely one of my most memorable moments of the week.
