WMC 2007 Reviews...
for those that went, please post highlights & lowlights.
k thx
there are some really funny reviews in the WMC 2007 area..
what I see most consistently is that Sander van Doorn was the best DJ at this WMC.. which kind of surprises me because lot of people seem to have hated on him in the past year.

hmmm... i do not know why so my people don't like svd's style ???... i think there is an revelolution in electronic-trance music and dj/artists are looking for new sounds... i belive that svd has found his own unique style and i really like what he has done with it... to me its very hi energetic, and keeps the party people jumpin' ;-)
totally. its hard to describe but its a cutting, electro, trancey, techno, party music. He really has made his own style and sound. One of my fav examples is Purple Haze - Rush.
John Digweed at Pawn Shop = AMAZING set! I don't really care for his new minimal style, but on a giant sound system it sounds fantastic. The crowd absolutely ate it up. Pawn Shop is an AWESOME venue. There was a schoolbus in the middle of the club, and Diggers performed inside of a truck.
Bryan Jones played some nice Chicago House at the Whitelaw. Also had a great time at Remix Hotel... Richie Hawtin, Magda, and Tiefschwarz were playing. Frisky Radio party was dope w/ Tarkan and Pole Folder.
I was at Future Sound of Breaks on Friday night. The venue was this place called Area 51 and it was the DIRTIEST club I have ever been to in my life. Was absolutely disgusting, every time you flushed the toilet, water from the drain would start bubbling up from the floor. There was piss all over the bathroom.
It was good. The End.
*Will update when my body recharges in 6-8 weeks
WMC was amazing this year.... for me the tops were
Steve Porter @ The Fifth on Thursday-
he was in such a zone as he controlled the room.... he worked the knobs and just slammed mixes...intense!
Satoshi Tomiie @ Shine on Thursday-
Hector Romero had the room worked way up with his hi-energy, positive house, then satoshi took over...the place went insane with all the anticipation... his set was so dark and techy i thought robots were going to to start coming out of the walls...
Sander K @ Shine on Sunday-
Perfect Closing party, hands in the air, feet to the floor...balls to the wall....one pounder after another...sander was on fire this night..
I wish i was still down there because the vibe was so fun this year.... the Royal Palm Hotel pool & lobby were off the chains the entire time as well.....
Armin Van Buuren at the Pawn shop was my
fav. show .
Motion @ Karu-Y
Motion @ Karu-Y was definitely the best event i went to. The venue is the sickest place i've ever parties at. Their website KARU-Y.COM does no justice. The place is a 20 million dollar spread...lounges, zen gardens with moats and waterfalls, and a stellar club with sick lasers and Kryro, etc....plus an unreal soundsystem. The line-up says it all:
ABOVE AND BEYOND
SANDER VAN DOORN
BLANK AND JONES
and, at 7am, when i was about to leave...in walks TIESTO for a 2 hour set. I think that line-up...as far as trance goes....is as good as it gets!!! Can't wait til' next year!
Btw, out of those djs, SANDER VAN DOORN was tops. That guy just tore the place up. It was my first time really hearing him spin at all...and he really delivered. Nice guy too. Got pics with all djs except for Tiesto. SVD's style is hard, loud, but what he does..how he distorts and messes with songs....and gets into it so much with the crowd, makes for quite the show. Can't wait to see him back in Chicago. Both he and Above and Beyond say fall stops are planned.
all i have to say is svd @ twilo on the 24th was insaine!!!! i was dancing so hard & not paying attention to my body & how much water vs booze i had had & how insainly hot i was (temperature wise) like an idiot... colapsed on the dancefloor & passed out. i mean i made it till 5am but still im kicking myself in the ass now for it.
steve lawler was awesome, he layed it dooooown.
i want to travel around the world & go to every wet grooves event i possibly can. they had such a variety & i had no dissapointment at that event.
sasha & digweed =
SVD was insane---only it wasn't TWILO----it was KARU-Y. ARMADA night was at TWILO that night. Are you sure you were't thinking of AVB?? hahaha
yes, thats what i meant... svd @ nikki beach was insane.
armen van buuren was the one who made me collapse...
when avb droped heaven scent i almost died! lol it made me think of the movie groove...
