Be Cool! [PHOTOS & VIDEO] Wizzy Noise LIVE @ Mythology NOW WITH REVIEW!

Alright, this is a very elaborate review which you can sum up as: Wizzy Noise kicked ass.

Katie and I left my house at 11:30pm after attempting to get a few hours of sleep before we left...we were unsuccessful . We were kickin' ass on the freeway up until I took the wrong ramp which I realized after we passed Glendale and had to make a u-turn. Next I took the wrong exit and we ended up at the gate of NASA-JPL. At that point I realized I didn't have the directions memorized and had to pull up TA on my MDA (its 2007!!!). I finally got it right and we found ourselves treading further and further from civilization. There was one lone street lamp that seemed to mark the beginning of our adventure as it was completely blacked out for the next hour and fifteen minutes. We plunged deep into the bowels of the Angeles National Forest, my GTI climbed the trail better than a Humvee and handled the amphibious crossings like a champ. We finally reached the gate keeper after the 40 minute climb up the dirt road... I could hear a faint rumble in the distance. The gate keeper gave us the go ahead and we were back on what remained of the trail. We finally reached our destination at 1:40am.

The man directing the cars directed us to park under a large tree which was about 300 feet from the entrance...we got lucky. I opened my door and was met with a deep bass line...we flicked on the flashlights and we made our way to the main stage. There were tents set up all along the tree line each having their respective campfire. We walked into the middle of the crowd and found ourselves surrounded by the most diverse crowd I have ever seen. The Greeks were out in full force to support their countrymen Wizzy Noise. The Israelis had a strong presence as always with many South Americans, Mexicans, Indians (from India), and a few Japanese in attendance. I found myself in the middle of the melting pot with so many different languages being spoken around me that I felt as if I had traveled thousands of miles to a strange yet beautiful land where vanity and egos do not exist, a land where respect comes before anything else in other words anywhere but L.A..

We danced, jumped and stomped in the dirt totally enveloped by the music, lost in the moment. The moonlight was faint but all around me were unmistakable smiles. Fatigue began to set in around 4:00am so we headed to the car to hydrate and eat. Not a minute after I set my head down did I hear Gatto Matto start up with The Principles of Flight. He pieced the story together as I dozed off for a bit. My alarm goes off , I looked at the time...it was 5:17am, Wizzy Noise was just 43 minutes away!!! I splashed some water on my face and gobbled down another Cliff Bar. I then saw a convoy of eight vehicles roll in I could tell this was going to be something big if people were still coming up at 5:20am. The anticipation and excitement were almost unbearable. We made our way back to the main stage and got back into the swing of things. Gatto Matto really had the crowd going, for his last track he had a female vocalist singing live (I forgot her name but she was definitely Greek).

The moment had finally arrived! Mickey and Uriel emerged Nord and laptop in hand and they got right down to business. They opened up with Cydonia just as the sky was going from pitch black to lighter and lighter shades of blue and the crowd went nuts! Dancing to my favorite producers as the sun rose from behind the mountains was surreal. They followed Cydonia with GTG 42- #10. Mickey and Uriel dropped massive track after massive track. They played Etnica-Trip Tonight (Wizzy Noise remix), Wizzy Noise vs. Prosper - Panic Attack , I almost exploded when they went into Juno Reactor - Masters of the Universe (Wizzy Noise bootleg) I dont think I have ever danced so hard in my life, if there was a peak in Wizzys set it was their bootleg of Masters of the Universe. Everyone had their hands up and was totally lost as the vocal comes in with the piano in the background. I wasnt on train spotting duty but from what I remember there was a good mix of their big tracks along with unreleased material and one or two tracks from Sabotage 2, but no Bendamin or Endelexia !!!! The crowd held strong throughout Wizzys set to my surprise. I caught up with Uriel as Mickey played a DJ set. Uriel was so laid back and relaxed. He was very friendly and he told me he hopes they will bring them to L.A. again. He loves the California countryside as he called it.

I took a look at time and saw it was getting close to 9am so we decided to leave a bit before Mickey finished up to avoid the mass exodus and the headache of going down a mountain with 200 other vehicles. The drive down was no where near as bad as the drive up because I could actualy see! The experience was something beyond words. Never in my life did I imagine there would be a psy gathering with Wizzy Noise just 2 hours from my front door. I cherished every moment... this was the most memorable EDM event of my life. Thank you Mickey and Uriel.

Satan (eek!)

What's in the pocket Ruben?

You look like you're going to sell him crack.

Great review man. A place where vanity and egos don't exist huh-- definitely doesn't sound like L.A. More like a Yoga class. I'm happy you got to see your favorite producers in action bro. I never thought in a million years we would have Wizzy in LA. We have to check out the next event with Tegma. Prog psy ftw!

Fantastic review. I should've asked you to ask Uriel about a track that was on GTG35. Its part of a proggier Wizzy EP that is yet to be released. Its one of the best ever..too bad its not out yet.

Yeah, tell me about it. I think I reached maximum disgust when I flipped on the TV yesterday morning only to hear a report about Britney Spears going to a hip hop work out class and then going out to sushi with her friends later on in the evening... after hearing that I wondered how it got this bad... I immediately turned off the TV, I didn't even wait around to hear the results of Anna Nicole Smith's autopsy.

It was so different up there...people were more concerned about picking up trash than how they looked. The focus was on sustainable living and harmony with each other.

They are actually pants. I was planning on wearing "The Sands of Ibiza" but the dry cleaner didn't have them ready in time. That Egyptian cotton can be so stubborn sometimes.
