Europe People - Xbox, GameCube, or PS2?

Right. Being a big games fan myself, I'm curious to know what console you/'re would/gonna buy.

Xbox is the most powerfully, but the most expensive.

GameCube is very cheap (�170) and has quite a bit of power, but does Nintendo's kiddy image put you off?

PS2 is obviously the most popular. Cheap, has a DVD player, has lots of games, although it's not quite as powerful as the other two.

Question: Which one?

Oh, and the reason this is UK only, because the GameCube isn't out here yet, and the Xbox has just been released, whereas in America, they've been out for ages.

I own a ps2 and i'm really happy with it
Couple days ago a friend of mine bought a x-box and was very excited ... then he throw in that Gotham racing game ... know what ? It wasn't smooth as he expected despite of all the power it has ... maybe 'cause of x-box got an hd inside ... anyway even if it was a perfect console i would not buy it just 'cause it's micro$hit and if you want to see a dvd you have to buy sorta "adaptor" (that's so Micro$hit) and spend even more money (as if the console was cheap ...)
Dunno 'bout gamecube 'cause never tried one but i heard you can't see dvds
Anyway this is only my 2 cents on it

I couldnt care less about the POWER each consol has, i only care about the games that come out.
I would go for the Playstation 2 because there will always be good games for it.

Well the xbox has impressed me a lot and has to great games (Halo and gotham racing) Both rated 5/5 by a reviewer who i highly rate. If xbox keep this up they could compete with ps2. I think the gamecube will be a flop. And the ps2 will seel just as well as the ps1.

This IMO will be a 2 horse race with xbox and ps2. But ps2 will win over in sales. But i think both are bringing out top games. But imo my pc wins overall, it can run all the games and they all come out for the pc, especially the xbox games

SSX is one of my favourites...only Snowboard game ive been addicted to! Freaturing "Hybrid - Finished symphony" on the last course which is off-pist with amazing landscaping....Mmmmmmm...

GTA 3 is great to!

BTW.....Ps2 controllers ROX!
