back from WMC ....and i'm sad :-(

omg guys what a crazy experience...forget sleeping...forget eating...forget comming back with a tan.....all you do is go from one party to another and another and another..

it was INSANE!

we got there tuesday and miami was still pretty quiet....thursday is when most ppl came in and the week-end was NUTS...so many ppl everywhere...so much traffic...u hear loud base at every street corner...in every store..there is a party at every hotel...everyone is hot and everyone is there to celebrate house music!!!!!!!!!!

i will post pictures as soon as I figure out how

one regret: forgetting my ID in Bal Harbor the day of teh Danny T and Victor Calderone party @ Shelborne and missing it cuz it took over 2h to get to South Beach....
went shopping instead...

oh and...

DANNY TENAGLIA is my new hero
so is Roger Sanchez

Posted by Spin Laden on Mar-27-2007 16:56:

ouch. So you missed out on Victor and Danny T? Next.

I'm awaiting feedback from friends too, heard the rain kinda sucked. That Sasha-Digweed boat cruise

House boat cruises are the best!

actually Winnipeg has been having quite some good parties in the past year. In the past year, there has been Armin, SVD, Marco V, Matt Darey, John 00 Fleming, Marcus Schulz, Ferry, Tall Paul, Dj Dan and a shitload more. I was quite surprise when i was there to see all those people come to Winnipeg.

Posted by Spin Laden on Mar-27-2007 19:05:

Winnipeg. Ottawa. That ain't no WMC..or even BeB for that matter.

Rock the MTS Centre with some tech beats!! Vancouver's getting massives now but going about it the wrong way, imo.

its impossible... the biggest massive over there are 1500 people maximum... usually is 700-1000 people. the EDM scene over there is quite small. I wont say anything else because i dont want to be racist.

but ya... u get the point... its a prairie city.

my highlights

calderone/tenaglia/chus and ceballos pool party...even with the 10 dollar beer cans was totally worth it...what a set

randomly walking in and hearing Barbara Tucker and Joi Cardwell, perform live in a hotel lobby, that was epic

having a beer with Anton @ Twilo for breakfast at 3 in the afternoon with big smiles on our faces and dancing it up big to the Groovejet classics Tenaglia party

but its true Twilo is the greatest afterhours club in the world, amazing staff..soo friendly, the sound system wow! pratically near perfection, no bottle service, no vip area, this place was MADE for dancers, the dj, and HOUSE MUSIC lovers felt like home

and yeah the weather last two years wasnt too hot, rained alot, partly cloudly...weather was still nice and comfortable with light breeze most of the time ... first year i went was hella humid, i came back as a black man my tan was so dark, but not this year

i randomly walked into the zabiela/fanciulli party and saw maher there, after a night of drinking that was a cool party

you do know minimal/minimal tech has been kicking since the mid to late 90s right? the only fad is the word itself.

Posted by Luke Native on Mar-27-2007 20:44:

comments from last year:
"i saw you on myspace"

this year:
"does this track have any high hats?" in regards to all the minimal

i heard alot of josh wink and dennis ferrer tracks the most often this year

Obviously, as any other genre, it hasn't been invented yesterday.
What I meant is that everyone is playing minimal now, until well, something else comes along that will be more popular to play. And hailing it (or any other genre for that matter) as the future seems rather naive to me.
