D.A.V.E. The Drummer going by real name, Henry Cullen, too
So D.A.V.E. The Drummer (an alias for his real name, Henry), is now going by his real name as well, for his electro sets.
Interesting. I recall DLing an electro set off his site back in Jul, but I didnt know he was actively pursuing spinning non-techno on a larger scale... looks like he is.
Henry's a very diverse DJ. Madd respect to The Drummer.

| http://www.davethedrummer.net/ I'M STILL PLAYNG LIVE WITH ABLETON, PLAYING A LOT OF NEW UNRELEASED MUSIC AND I'M PLANNING ON ADDING A LITTLE MORE HARDWARE ( A 303 AND A 909 AND A 101 ) TO THE SET UP, TO GET A BIT MORE OF A "LIVE" FEEL BACK INTO IT. THIS WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR THE UK AND MAYBE SOME OF EUROPE AS I CAN'T TRAVEL WITH TOO MUCH EQUIPMENT SORRY . DJ SETS NOW I'M PLAYING 2 DIFFERENT STYLES , TECHNO AND ACID TECHNO , AND ELECTRO HOUSE / MINIMAL IF YOU WANT TO BOOK ME PLAYING MINIMAL/ELECTRO HOUSE BOOK ME AS HENRY CULLEN NOT DAVE THE DRUMMER AS I WILL SOON BE STARTING A NEW LABEL UNDER MY REAL NAME FEATURING MY MORE MINIMAL AND EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRO PRODUCTIONS. |

I hope his April 20th gig in Toronto (and he has a 21st gig in Ottawa too -- thanks for mentioning that Linz!) is techno and acid techno variety.
(god, do I ever hope it is!! ill be so disappointed if he's booked as Henry and spinning electro instead of the banging techno i want to blow my brains out to in the middle of thish tax season)
I'm not interested in hearing electro from him. Not a fan of the genre myself, and the one electro set of DAVE's I have I dont enjoy. (nevertheless, on him for experiementing.)
A pure minimal set from Henry would be very fascinating to hear live I think
anyone going to the 420 massive party
fri apr 20th
oh i just saw Jem_hadar's post
oops
Very Interesting!
On a side note i too hope his set is gonna be HARD ACID TECHNO, as interested as i might be in a Henry Cullen Electro set we don't get enough hard acid techno in these parts and we tone sof electro house

Didn't realize he was spinnin mellower stuff as well these days... Good to hear he will go under a different name though, I think that is appropriate!
/\ Ditto. I think he made a wise choice in segregating the 'brand names' with the types of music he will spin. Good on him for trying new stuff, but at least fans this way can know exactly what to expect.

one of my co-wheelofsteelers uses lots of DAVE's stuff on a fri/sat nite in the club
Hey Jamie, he's actually been doing this for a while. I just don't think many people realized it. I believe he even came under that monicker for a '2 the Beat' anniversary some time ago. He also played electro minimal stuff then too.
The only thing that's relatively new is that he's starting his record label under that name.
