Soundwerks: any pricing info? Is it still shipping by the end of the summer?

..... mmmm soooo sexy

Pricing will be between $1500-2000 USD....not really sure, but my guess around $1700-1800 USD

Should be shipping in October! I'll keep you posted on an "EVO TOUR", once I have firm details on when I'm getting mine

I love the LCD.

I like it, but I think the Korg still offers the best bang for the buck. Also, I think theres a serious lack of buttons on there. I mean, if this thing was designed with Ableton in mind, then its really not gonna be possible to have more 3 channels of MIDI control going (for me at least). Everyone sets up their template differently, but it seems like the Korg offers a lot more assignable buttons and knobs.

Maybe there will be some issues when the Korg comes out, in which case the EVO might end up having the upper hand, but for that price, I don't really think this is worth it.

Definately isn't worth it compared to the Korg. Korg seems to have a lot more bang for the buck so far.

The Zero 8 or Zero 4? According to their site, the Zero 4 has something like 65 or 69 MIDI controls....which is the same (69) as the EVO5. Plus the EVO has up to 64 different layouts, for a total of 4416 MIDI controls.

But if you just want to count dedicated MIDI, then it's 69.

The EVO5 is still more of a serious mixer, with higher quality parts and construction...and trust me, feels WAY more solid than the ZERO mixers...which I've played with at NAMM. Theyre great, dont get me wrong...but are a little cluttered for serious DJ'ing and feel a bit on the flimsy side.

But this is all up to a matter of tastes and requirements in a mixer.

...

i'm buying this for my studio

it says it has a midi clock output, but what about an input?

Posted by Soundwerks on Mar-29-2007 20:30:

there is a MIDI output AND input...so yeah, sounds like a possibility

Posted by Tony Morello on Mar-29-2007 20:33:

if only it had couple more channels

i'm still going to get it though

chain effects FTMFW!!!

Honestly, I could care less about the Ferrari inspired design. I don't wanna pay extra for sleek looks and bling bling.

If the Korgs are as flimsy as you say Soundwerks, that is definitely something to consider. However, its also possible that the prototypes weren't built to the same spec that the mass produced models will be built to. Only time will tell, but I think the Zero 4 still seems like the better bargain.
