Golden Girls - Kinetic

old tune im sure everyone would have heard, but after hearing porters remix i was left wanting more. i just found a maher daniel remix on his myspace which has me thinking that theres going a be a new remix pack out?

what do you people think and how likely is a re-release?

It's already had a million and one remixes - Anyone else who touches it is a money grabbing cunt. I did like Steve Porter's remix though, but I was glad he didn't release it. He is excluded from my previous remark.

My favourite version of this was Hybrid's 'Audiopyrotechnix' Mix and there is a pretty good breaks version that Paul van Dyk used to play that was titled 'Unknown - Golden Daze.'

the vinyl copy i had from about 9 years ago (god i feel old) had about 4 or 5 remixes back then, plus there was a remix package with about 3 or 4 more (including that commie mix) in 2000 i think, so im sure this track could go in the "tracks with most mixes" thread.

oh and the hybrid mix was and still is, the one for me.

15(!!) years old original is still the best for me. Wonderful work by younger (and better) Hartnoll brother

you know i think you're the only person i've ever seen talk about that bootleg on here. i really liked that version as well after stumbling across it on juno back in the day. i remember you putting it in that giant set of yours one time.

My fav still is Orbital Mix. Hybrid and Slacker mixes aren't bad either.

Actually the real original version from 1991, The Pied Piper - Kinetic (Love And Pride Mix) is not by Paul Hartnoll at all but by Michael Hazell, an old friend of the bros. At first Paul only constructed a rework of Hazell's original and soon after both of the Hartnolls ended up remixing Paul's rework even further and the result got finally recorded and released, hence some of the releases saying "produced by Paul Hartnoll" and Orbital Mix having very little in common with the real original.

The Orbital Mix was initially released as a b-side of the Pied Piper original back in 1991 but it got a much bigger exposure about a year later, artist name then changed to Golden Girls.. the rest is history of numerous remixes. Funnily and obviously enough most remixes base heavily on the reworking aka Orbital Mix and not the Pied Piper original, i guess which is why there aren't any other remixes released for the Pied Piper artist name. D'oh!
