richie hawtin this year at WMC

how was richie hawtin at WMC this year? i was at ultra and got disoriented and missed his show. anyone at ultra see it? how was he? what other event was he at and was he good?

richie and loco dicce did not show up to ultra.

what do you mean they didnt show up? they were on the schedule line up. you mean they were supposed to be there and they just didnt show up? so the other djs had to play extended sets?

I heard the Amnesia tent was empty. Sad, cause it had the best lineup of all tents.

The Amnesia tent was dope and Richie was definitely there. Only heard about 10-15 minutes if his set, but it sounded good. The sound at that tent was some of the better sound at Ultra. They walled the whole area in on three sides with boxcars stacked two high, so the accoustics back there were great.

it wasnt a tent, it was an outdoor stage. it wasnt empty, but definitely wasnt packed. it had a lot of people but the people were spread out. you could walk right up to the stage if you wanted to. it had the lowest attendance of all the stages. everytime i walked by, the music was very good quality, better than the usual commercial prog or electro. either americans are not ready for the artistic thoughtful aspect of minimal or it doesnt do well at a festival when theres bangin hype music at all other stages nearby. i think its the latter.

Caught Richie (& Magda) on the terrace @ noturnal on the saturday morning...some good shit he was churning out, and I certainly got a lesson in what techno sounds like in 2007 that morning!

Richie didn't show, at least for the timeslot he was slated for. I was waiting around specifically for him, but Picotto came on when Richie was supposed to. Everyone I talked to said he didn't show up for whatever reason.

I've never seen Richie before WMC this year. We randomly went to Pawn shop after Sasha & Digweed. Richie had just gone on so I went up to the front to check it out. I (and the thick ass 5am crowd) was totally into the music. He was mixing inside the semi-truck and hit the horn a few times. I was stoked on what I was hearing and didn't leave until 8:30ish.
Then I slept for 5 hours, got up and went to the Radio1 Pool Party. guess who was spinning after Zabiela on the Essential mix? well yea Hawtin tore it up again. This guy is mad busy on the boards! damn, sampling, looping, mixing, it was sick. I'll definitely look for him again.
