Feng Shui ~ How far do you go?

I have always been interested in astrology, specifically chinese zodiac and symbolism. I find I can very much relate to my animal, which is of course the MONKEY!

Recently, I have been researching Feng Shui and I have found some very interesting principles and estimates that I can relate my life experiences with.

If you do not know what animal you are, you can check HERE

I ended up switching around my workspace today so to promote work development and positive attitude. It is very interesting.

World of Feng Shui

Interesting:

I was born in the year of the dog.

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other peoples confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders.

A fairly accurate description, I like to think.

Good thread!

Not something I desire but am forced to under many circumstances. (though I'm pretty good at it)

Yep. Procrastinating!

A fairly accurate description, I like to think.

Better Chinese Zodiac descriptions here

quote:
The Fire Dragon is a powerful force to be reckoned with. This is a Dragon doubled! The Fire Dragon can move from calm and collected to combustible in a matter of seconds. In some ways the Fire Dragon is his or her own worst enemy. These Dragons cannot help feeling they are valuable and all-knowing. When they are right their vehemence and vigor is an asset to the cause, and though they value objectivity, they do not always employ the best decision-making measures, and sometimes jump to the wrong conclusion. They also suffer from recklessness and quick tempers. Yet, when they do keep their temper, emotions, and rivaling spirit under control, they emanate a commanding influence on other people.

im a TIGER
Tiger people are sensitive, given to deep thinking, capable of great sympathy. They can be extremely short-tempered, however. Other people have great respect for them, but sometimes tiger people come into conflict with older people or those in authority. sometimes Tiger people cannot make up their minds, which can result in a poor, hasty decision or a sound decision arrived at too late. They are suspicious of others, but they are courageous and powerful. Tigers are most compatible with Horses, Dragons, and Dogs

ive been looking for a site like that. most sites are too basic with their descriptions.

quote:

THE EARTH HORSE 1918 AND 1978

Earth Horses are able to see situations from all angles and corners. They are relatively easygoing, preferring to determine each pro and con before making a final decision. Earth Horses work hard to accomplish goals they have set and would rather take longer to do an outstanding job than to work shorter and shave a little quality. They have great senses of humor and are extremely adaptable in most instances.

fairly accurate.

The funny coincidence is that I found TA when I did because I was looking for my zodiac match.

Good call on the website Swamper

Some other interesting things I have learned is to never have the foot of your bed facing the door of your bedroom. This is the coffin position.

Never have the head of your bed under a beam.

It is unfavourable to have 2 doors in your bedroom that are across from each other.

Do not have dried flowers or dead things in your bedroom.

Unfavourable to have water in your bedroom, unless it is drinking water.

There are so much more, I am reading up on it furiously. I find it very interesting.

Monkeys can run circles around other people with ease. They are curious and clever people who catch on quickly to most anything. Monkey people generally can accomplish any given task. They appreciate difficult or challenging work as it stimulates them and makes them think.

Hehe... run circles around other people try and catch me!

This one I completely disagree with because I have an aquarium in my room that brought me more peace and aesthetic function than feng shui ever will.

Somewhere around 10 years ago my parents were trying to sell the family's house in an area that had become overwhelmingly Chinese, and there was a direct open path from the front door to the backyard door. You would not believe how much trouble this caused with the sale. I thought it only applied to bedrooms, but apparently not.

Ridiculous. Superstition is superstition, it's not any more valid or interesting just because it originated from a different part of the world.

Amen to that.

It is funny how on both those sites it says born in 1979 is they year of the sheep.
Years ago I came across a site that said I was a horse and if you read both the horse and the sheep and know me, you know full well I fall under the characteristics of a horse, not the sheep
maybe it is cuz I was only born 4 days after the year of the sheep.

Wow, had a crash course on Chinese Zodiacs yesterday! Buddha bellies ftw!

Year of the horse, here.

Ok, I'm not sure if it's my computer lagging...or if it's just my mind seeing things being written or scrolled at a delayed and robotic pace..anyway..

I was born the year of the Giraffe, and it says yes,
