My surprise 2nd-best set of the conference goes to Rank 1

Sander was my favorite, but Rank 1 was unbelievable! I wanted a proper trance night, so went to Twilo to see Armin and Markus. First off, let me say Twilo is a great club- and such a great place for trance. Waited in line and saw 45 min. of Armin's set. Armin was good, as was Markus. I had no idea who Rank 1 was before I saw him and when he started playing his brand of warm, melodic, uplifting trance, I fell in love. It was the best trance set I've heard in a few years. It was the type of trance I have always loved and I thought I wouldn't hear anymore. It was absolutely amazing!!

awww, another convert! that's why he's one of my favs!!!! i saw him for the first time last january and i was mesmerized by his set. he is incredible! and his set at twilo during conference was one of the best i've seen of his! he basically leveled that place and kept the energy going until 8:30 am!!!!! he is, imo, a damn fine dj!

Rank 1's set @ Twilo was the closest thing to a magical experience at this WMC! I'd been hanging in the downstairs VIP after Armin's set, chatting with friends and drinking a fair amount of Red Bull and Stoli. After all I drank at Twilo and earlier that night, I should have headed back to the hotel. I wasn't even sure if I was going to last till 6 AM. Guess what? As soon as Rank 1 took the decks, I hit the dance floor again and managed to stay till the very end! I'd downloaded a few Rank 1 sets in the past, but nothing prepared me for what Rank 1 delivered! The most defining moment of Rank 1's set was when Piet dropped Brairwave! I was absolutely blown away! I couldn't stop dancing till the very end!

All in all...there couldn't have been a better end to my WMC experience...really! It was hands down of the best trance sets I've ever experienced!

P.S. Don't get me wrong. Armin and Markus were great @ Armada All Night...but in the end...Rank 1 owned!

IMO...nothing but great material as far as I'm concerned. However it would've been great to hear Rank 1 drop Awakening! That's OK...Brairwave will remain the finest moment of Rank 1's set @ Twilo!

You know what...I would have to agree with you!! It was the second best trance set I heard, shit If I new they were going to continue to 8:30 I would have stayed, I only left just before 8am, I could not stand anymore!!! But the energy he brought on was simply amazing, just wish he wasnt so shy up there to get the crowd really really into it!!! HE COULD DO IT, if he tried.

i got a chance to talk to the guys in piet's management team and told them that they seriously need to book rank 1 a hell of a lot more in the states!!!! i was like look, anyone can keep a dance floor filled from 12-3 but it takes a dj like piet of rank 1 to keep that energy and insanity until 8;30 am!!!! they also manage armin and they were like, totally agree piet brought it on for his set at twilo! he owned that night and i'm so glad that so many others were given such a treat that night
