Newbie Grounding Question
Hello everyone, i have been thinking about learning how to mix tunes using vinyl. My problem is, I hear annoying buzzing when I turn my turntables and mixer on. My friend told me I need to "ground" the mixer and tables, but I don't even know where to get started :S
I have hardwood flooring. Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

also keep your power supplies away from the signal, for instance if your mixer has a power supply box attached.
Thanks, I tried attaching wires from the turn tables to the mixer, and nothing happend, still a buzzing going on :S

I have a cheap Numark 1002
Anyways. What I did was, i got some grounding screws, and wired them, I connected the wires to go from the grounding screw on the Turntables, to the grounding screws on the mixer. The mixer's grounding screw has little rings on it, that look like washers which can be seen here :
Well, I'm still getting the buzzing sound when i turn the mixer on.
I have my turntables on a table (or plank) which is supported by 2 file cabinets, like this

Anyone have any solutions? Let me know.
And I have hardwood flooring.
Sorry can't help you there. I know nothing about that mixer. I have a Vestax PCV 275 (trying to sell it though).
obvious, but have u made sure ur volume levels arent too high for the output (ie, amp) as this could cause distortion/possibly buzzing. i used to get buzzing from my mixer to sound card wire but the wire was damaged, simply solved the problem with a replacement. just to eliminate that it isnt the mixer, have u tried just turning the mixer on and leaving the decks turned off? if u still get buzzing u might want to focus on the mixer/external wiring.
