Just got my new cdj200!
well, i ordered a cdj200 off of ebay, as im sure you have seen by my multiple posts in the past little while.
i had been waiting a very long time for this, im just a conventional bedroom dj, who has just been messing around on virtualdj and making a fewe mixes, that have progressively gotten better. so now im looking to imporve my skills and take it from the small screen to the hands on approach.
i have been tinkering away off and on for the past 2 days, and what a great little turntable, it actually very user friendly, and easy to use, i mean im sure that there are things that i don't know how to do yet, but i downloaded the manual from pioneer and that has helped quite a bit.
On a side note, when i took the cdj out of its shipping box, plugged it in...i got EJECT then...E-9101..now, this had looked familiar, i had probably seen a post on here about it, so i referenced my newly aquired manual, and it seemed it was dusty, so i got out my screwdriver, and opened itup, shot in a couple squirts of air in a can, closed it up..good to go!!
one feature i love about this, is that is plays mp3s, so instead of having to kill a bunch of cdrs with audio cds, i can just throw portions of my library onto cd and just mess around.
anyway, thanks for reading and all the advice on what to buy, ill be posting a bedroom dj pic today, you can all see my insanely ghetto setup!
now to hunt for a second cdj200

I got two last week, loving them
, gonna go find that manual now lol
I might buy some eventually but I really want a nice, up-to date laptop that is good enough for Ableton Live and a MIDI controller. I still like the hands on the approach and you still kind of get that if you have a MIDI controller with Ableton, but I know I can always add CDJ 200s. I might even just get a Nuo4 instead and use that for a mixer on Ableton until I can afford to get CDJ 200s and start mixing again. Though CDJs just don't cut it for some of the music I'm wanting to mix (chill out, downtempo, ethereal-new age/ambient). Not really designed for that style (more for live performance-higher BPM dance styles).
I envy you!!! How much did you pay?
congrats
as above, just need to find it a lifelong partner hehe...
