<Now, we've all heard tunes with weird chants on them, but i want to know something>

i'm pretty sure all of us have heard tunes with really weird chants on them and we don't even know what they are saying yet we like how it sounds.

but i'm a little curious to know something

what in the world are they saying, is it saying something that when heard backwards makes sense or means something??

i want to know

here's some tracks with weird chants on them

Dj Shah & Larusso pres global experience - zanzibar

Way out west - killa

Tegma - A Night in Cairo

SBK - Borderline (really weird vocals)

Leama & Moor - Everything Matters (Matthew Dekay Remix)

Banco De Gaia - Last Train To Lhasa

Robbie Rivera - The Shout

Soul Penetrator - Tribal Pleasures

Enur ft Natasja - calabria 2006

Albert Vorne - Formentera What (Gareth Emery mix)

Salt tank - eugina

filterheadz - yimanya

Benya - Mimas

and meanwhile post some more of those tracks with weird chants

the ones i'm most likely eager to know what they are saying are:

Dj Shah & Larusso pres global experience - zanzibar

Way out west - killa

here the answer for this small mystery, which isn't a mystery at all really. the vocal in eugina is taken lifted from an tori amos track called "me & a gun" (from the 1991 album "little earthquakes"). this track in it's original is completely acapella. and the line the salt tank boys lifted of it was "carolina, where the biscuits are so soft and sweet"

there is already a thread about this exact same topic, if you didn't already know or somehow missed it. you can ask your question there, no need to make a new thread about a topic already being discussed.

When you play that record backwards you can hear the Devil speak.

Posted by Blake_Jarrell on Apr-02-2007 15:18:

the chant in Lostep - Burma was sampled from a sounds of thailand CD that you can buy at borders.

Posted by Sykonee on Apr-02-2007 15:40:

Sometimes they aren't saying anything, just making rhythmic sounds. Kind of like scat singing.

If you listen to the chants like they were sung in swedish, it sounds exactly like they say "ey, ey, packa bajs", wich is a way to say
"ey, ey, fuck ass" in swedish
(lit. translation "packa" = compress, "bajs" = poo)

Hilarious when you realize it and understand swedish.
But the track is so good you don't think about it that much

Yeah, those chants are great. I like the one on the new Tiesto track "Ten Seconds Before Sunrise" too

Posted by skip on Apr-03-2007 20:41:

one i'd really like to know is "marco v - godd"

i've always wondered what the chick says in it. "rock the..."
i can't make it out and apparently no one on ta has as there was a thread about it ages ago and no one got it.

one i do know is sonorous - protonic (at least the ronski speed remix), can't remember if the original has the same vocals. that was something like "new life forever" backwards. there's a thread about it somewhere here on ta.

for Pulp Victim - The world, ferry sampled Mire Brennan's Oro from her 1992 album "Mire",

http://www.geocities.com/celticlyri...brennan/oro.htm these are the lyrics

for those of you who have heard ASOT2006 CD1... approximately 51 seconds into Karen Overton - Your Loving Arms (Club Mix) a male voice in the background says something that I can't understand (I am monolingual) and she giggles.

what does he say? i've been wondering for almost a year now...

You mean that cut up bit? I think it's just random slices of the vocal and doesn't actually mean anything.

i'm talking about the part that first appears around 0:55 - 1:02 in the original mix. it appears a couple of times in the beginning after that too. after that it goes to the vocals i can make out, the "do you believe in a god that tells you lies..."
the chick starts chanting the same thing as in the beginning at around 3:50 too. i always thought she really said something there and that it wasn't just some random cut up vocals. dunno how it is then.

lol those are not chants xD

have you heard the original??

the lyrics from the original are

tell me there is more than this rocky morning cuz if you got the best there is then i want nothing

it's a long way down and no one in this crowd, can stop me hitting the ground

cuz now iv'e got.. nothing to hold i'm falling...

so how can i

survive this sinking feeling

see those lyrics that i just wrote???

that's what she says in holden and thompson - nothing (93 returning mix)

BUT with some weird effect that kinda cuts what she says in half so you kinda have to pay attention

i noticed this a long time ago
