Try USH.NET a massive hardcore forum, they have a production section there.

whats so funny about this is that 99% of uk happy hardcore producers use trance kicks
standard clubby kicks from the vengeance cd's. often 2 layered

In fact i hear tougher kicks in most hard trance tunes

But do you mean "rest of world" hardcore?
in that case check out this page i found

Depends weather you're talking about new trancey hardcore, dutch hardcore etc...

New trancey stuff just uses hard trance kicks. Don't go for uk trance kicks because they're too weak for the genre - if you're talking about dutch style hardcore and gabber, try the hardcore pack at http://www.vipzone-samples.com/inde...rom=vipzone.old

I'd say they use more hard house kicks - punchy and short sometimes a little distorted but only very gently.

Def not using hard trance kicks IMHO, too long a tail when playing at 180bpm and it will muddy the usually desired effect, which is to get a choppy or rolling relationship between kick and bass.

hardcore sounds

I've uploaded a bunch of hardcore & hardstyle sounds, and a few hundred hardcore/hardstyle kiks to my STUFF page if anybody wants 'em.

Most of the kiks are really short & tight... ideal for 170-180 bpm

Dig in.

Cheers for the samples!

What is the JUno 1 like as was thinking of picking one up, and do you know the diff between the 1 and 2 other than aftertouch on keyboard?

The Juno-1 isn't as elaborate as some of the other Juno, but you can still squeeze some pretty big sounds out of it. The interface (or rather a LACK of one) is its biggest drawback.

Building sounds on it is pretty tedius when all you have to for control is a couple of buttons and a data wheel.
I don't know how much I'd spend on one if I didnt have one, but if you can find one for a good price, it's worth it. (for me, the hoover makes it worth hanging on to )
