Non English titles?

Have you ever noticed that majority of the tracks out there have English titles or even English lyrics�

Why is that?

Honestly off the top of my head I cant think of any tracks that don�t have English titles�

It all boils down to how big a market you're trying to appeal to. English is the most prevalent and global language in dance music, so artists name their tracks in English to appeal as broadly as possible.
Still, I know plenty of tunes without English titles, as it doesn't matter THAT much when so much of the music is purely instrumental anyhow.

It's a different story when it comes to, say, rock bands or rappers, who rely largely on lyrical content. For instance, there's a band called Bob Hund (Bob Dog in English) who used to do all their tunes in Swedish. They took on a new name when they re-recorded their tracks in English to make their tunes more accessible to a global audience.

seems like the only time you see names of songs in different languages is when they are suggesting some cultural feel...whether it's spanish, french, japanese whatever...but yeah i agree with jan

Why is pop music filled with vocals to begin with? People don't want meaningful or cultural lyrics, they just want something they can sing along to. If you stray away from that kind of music you'll find plenty of stuff with titles and lyrics in other languages. It's just that you don't hear about them in mainstream media.

english is the most widely spoken language in the world so most people understand it simple.

if "marche" is "march�", it should be "Le onzi�me march�"

Why would Nu NRG do French titles if they're Italian?

In fact eclisse is an italian word. However I don't still see any relation between the nationality of the producers and the language used to name the tracks.

anyone have songs with different language vocals?

Check the songs made to raise money for the populations hit by the Tsunami in the South East or by the storm in central America, they even have multiple language vocals. The "vocals" however are not of the classical kind as you will hear.

i try to search for spanish names while searching for tracks, their songs usually have names in spanish or so..

its usually tribal though, not trance.

for the same reason we're talking in english on the TA main forums

i think other languages are used partially for marketing reasons, and partially for association with a scene. and of course producers might just like certain non-english phrases or find them exotic or some shit like that - you see that a lot in today's trance, especially the flowery close-your-eyes-and-go-to-the-beach-i'm-flying-trance

mostly you see it with music that is made with an attempt to create an atmosphere in the same way an interior designer puts a mahogony wallpaper up to create 'masculinity'. then they just extend this to the title.
