Need a new MP3 Player, preferably with line in recording.

As my gear was robbed by crackheads this weekend, I need a new MP3 player - and I'd like to get one with line in recording in order to record live sets more readily and easily than with a laptop.

Any and all recommendations appreciated.

Cheers.

How's that? 1gig of recording space would be pretty big, no?

recording uncompressed no. remember a regular audio cd at 1hr is 700mb. and you NEVER record directly to compressed audio. too much risk for artifacts and problems. always record uncompressed and compress into format of choice. this also leaves room for mastering since you have the uncompressed original.

Even uncompressed 1 gig would be at least an hour and a half maybe 2 hours.

Ok, so now who wants to buy me one?

oh and the zen v is small so its very convenient. and you dont even need to install the software or anything if you have xp. it just works. you an use winamp to add stuff to it.

Go Cowon iAudio...........their products are well built, have line-in recording (uncompressed and 320/256/192/... MP3). And are damn sexy to boot!

Checking these out now, look great - I'm hoping to get a solid state player/recorder, and these guys look to have by far the most options in this department

i support iriver, but then again, the iriver i had (pmp-120) was big, bulky, and skipped a lot (i also used it in a dirty-ass factory that had a lot of magnetic disturbances, so take that as you will). the zune looks really nice.
