looking at reg. season stats, the first round should be interesting. lots of pairs have 2-2 in reg. season!

Buffalo Vs. Leafs would've been a great series!

But honestly though, I think Buffalo deserves to win it...They got such a great team...it makes me jealous being a Leaf fan haha

I guess I should pull for my Flames as well...but don't think they'll be able to pass Detroit.

Sabres... About time too.

Unless they muck up majorly, they should win.

Dark Horse teams
Tampa Bay: Any team with Lecavalier/St. Louis combo deserves a serious consideration
Anaheim: Funny how I'm considering a 2 seed as a dark horse team but with the sketchy goaltending the Ducks have, should be interesting. Though when one goalie goes into slump, the other seems to pick it up. Play offs might be different

I'm gonna cheer for all canadian teams!!

Posted by exstasie on Apr-09-2007 18:59:

Dont' think any canadian teams will be able to make past the second round...

The only team that might have a chance is Vancouver..but that all depends on Luongo now...

I hope Buffalo makes it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs!

TOTA Stanley Cup Playoffs ROAD TRIP!!

I'm hoping for a March of the Penguins...

Can we have just one hockey playoff thread instead of four?

Posted by Matt on Apr-09-2007 19:17:

I'll throw down some predictions for first round:

Ottawa vs. Pittsburgh ... Ottawa in 7

West
Detroit vs. Calgary ... Detroit in 7

kinda....more because i feel the style of hockey they play is what the nhl wanted when they made the rule changes. fast paced, lots of goals, exciting hockey...u know what i mean?

Well, the Sabres should be able to win it...no contest.

If they don't win the Stanley Cup then its because they lost it, not because they didn't have the team to win the cup.

I agree that open ice hockey is fun to watch (hmmm... NHL looking like European hockey every yr goes by) but both teams have irratic defence and goaltending therefore don't have the team to win the cup. (unless the refs protect Crosby like he's the new god)

Posted by Mortyman on Apr-09-2007 20:15:

I've been a Wings fan longer than most of you have been alive.
Gotta support my team, even if they don't have Yzerman
Go WINGS GO!!

The worst part is having to watch the Wings play Calgary in the first round. I really really like Calgary, always did. It's a shame to have to cheer for your #1 team to beat out another one of your faves

Wow, so you don't think the same applies to teams like Anaheim, Detroit or Nashville?

p.s. Eviltree, the refs don't have to protect Crosby like he's a new god, but I do expect them to call each and every game fairly. Imagine a missed/blown call that determines the outcome of a game/series???...*coughkerryfraserin93cough*
