vincent de moor - underrated?

vdm has got so many great productions and remixes under his belt.. i'm surprised i barely see his name mentioned..

obviously everybody knows about the great flowtation, also i really love fly away.. sadly ferry gets more credit for the veracocha productions..

but damn.. let's see.. recent remixes.. ghosts (both remixes are fucking tops), remix of kinetic, i guess other than the occasional remix he's been silent these days.. the only thing i heard is a rerelease of flowtation is coming up..

there's got to be some more vicent lovers in the house.. speak up!!

what are your favorite production and remix?

Posted by trancaholic on Apr-08-2002 05:36:

I like him. Mostly because of the melodies he crams into his tunes, not because he's a particularly great/unique producer. Fly Away & Flowtation are indeed good tracks, but also Sunflowers, Night Express 2000 and Darwin's Voyage springs to mind.

I guess the reason why you never see him mentioned here (anymore, I hasten to add ), is because it's been ages since he did anything new. After all, the Ghosts-remix is over an year old.

Finally, I'll agree with you on FC unfairly receiving most of the praise of Veracocha. I guess that's because FC rarely produces anything wonderful on his own, and his fans have to mention Veracocha/Gouryella when they praises him

i agree that VDM is underated... i think fly away, flowtation and shamu are great songs...

ive never heard anyone talk about his livesets tho... what are they like?

Posted by arkhan on Apr-08-2002 06:54:

Dunno

yeh real shame that more pplz associate veracocha with simply ferry rather than being a FC/VDM collaboration...

its also a real pity that ferry said it was unlikely they'd make another veracocha type production ....mmms...

I agree!

I really like VDM's productions, hey let's not forget about Orion City hey!!!

He's up there with Ferry & Co IMO.
Vincent De Moor - Green Heaven = masterpiece
Vincent De Moor - Shamu : dito, although the track has massive potential left.
Been a bit slow lately, agreed; but he's top class.
Bye for now.

VDM is great! I like Dominorunner best, hehe. I don't think he is a dj though, not that i know of anyway, i am pretty sure he just produces tracks and that's it.

Sunflowers! thats one of my fav songs

and his tune from last summer, Emotions, was also great
had this gigantic buildup

Posted by ExOn on Apr-08-2002 11:34:

Yeah i think he is highly overrated!
fly away is a great fokking tune!

Posted by wimpy on Apr-08-2002 13:56:

vdm..

vdm is highly underrated.. hope he'll cram up some good prods soon so he'll catch up with the likes of ferry and armin)

Posted by gibbo on Apr-08-2002 14:06:

Vincent demoor is top class but people saying ferry is nowt special is a bit over the top all the remixes he's done are amazing and his work as system f is superb and the reason vincent de moor isnt that famousis that he only makes atrack every year or something and even then its not always good.

Posted by Ocean Wave on Apr-08-2002 14:13:

I don't think he's underrated, he's one of the best Dutch producers out there and I see his name mentioned a lot. He's just been a little quiet of late!

i love a lot of VdM's stuff but he hasnt done much lately which probably accounts for the lack of talk about him, although i think "emotions" is his latest product?

That is so true!!!... VDM has not released anything in the longest time, and also yeah FC rarely does make good tracks... i don't care what people say, but his "Punk" is too simple and commercail, also some of his tracks seem to be almost borderline cheese.

veracoche - carte blanche

is the only song i have heard from him (teamed w/ ferry) besides shamu...

meybe ill download more of his stuff...

vdm is highly underrated! i find his productions superb with amazing tuneage that no other artist can produce such a unique sound. i find his productions from his ealier works ie. Fix to Fax is 1 of my favorite names that he used. all i can say is VDM is pure quality and i hope he will release a new tune soon!

Posted by pixyjunket on Apr-08-2002 19:04:

i'd love to get my hands on spring drops.. either real "vinyl/cd" or fake "mp3".. dammit

Shut up NOW!
System F - Elevate is my all-time favorite track. Ferry is much better than VdM, because he can make a strong synth, and work it just as well. (better IMO.)

VdM has skill, but his tracks always seem lacking unless someone remixes it or works with him. (IMO.)

Posted by Dahippieman on Apr-09-2002 00:04:

i like how vdm adds flavor to classics like:
*Silent Harmony "Save The Whales* +
*Golden Girls "Kinetic"*
