Laptop question
Im about to buy a laptop and am chosing between one with an intel duo 5500 processor and one with a 2060 processor, the one with the weaker processor has a better screen so I'm wondering if there is much of a difference between the processors?
macbookpro - question answered
with the amount of processors out there it's confusing
now you need to generally decide what you prefer
perfomance or battery life?!

I spilled iced tea all over my laptop and now it doesn't work.
I know for a fact that if I clean it with alcohol it'll work, i just have to take it apart, which I don't feel like doing because i'm lazy as cheese.
I am about to buy an chocolate eclair.
Should I go for sprinkles on top or not ?
Please help, I'm very confused here.

And I didn't mention the whipped cream.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah decisions
buy one. bench mark it. then get an exchange at the store, pay any difference and there shouldn't be a restocking fee as long as you get a computer to exchange. benchmark the new computer. see which one is better. then either keep or exchange for the original
im with jdat. macbookpro but dump osx for a good *nix distro.
as everybody else is quite content to talk total bollocks, i'll actually add something of use.
I can't actually find an Intel Core Duo 2060, but i can find a 2050, so i'll assume it's that.
There is a big difference between the 2050 and the 5500. The 5500 is the entry line in the Core 2 Duo range, instead of the Core Duo range. The big difference here is the Core Duo is only 32bit, where as the Core 2 Duo is 64bit, so buying a 64bit processor will future proof it alot more as 32bit programs and operating systems are phased out, and 64bit become standard.
Apart from that, there isn't 'much' in it between them. They both have the same L2 cache, the only noticeable difference beyond the 64bit instruction is a higher FSB (raw speed), so it will be a little quicker.
When you say the other one has a better screen, whats the spec's of the two screens?
Coup to the rescue! Hi Coup!
hello you.
this belongs in the gadget zone
got a question as well, i wanna spend around $800-$1000. battery life doesn't have to be great, it will be plugged in most of the time. just want something quick and something that can hold a lot of music files, random programs etc.
