G'Day Mate

I have examined all the data, and the grand experiment I began hundreds of years ago to determine if criminality and lawlessness were genetic, by segregating the dregs of society in the penal colony colloquially known as "Down Under", has finally ended.

The data is clear. The conclusions profound and admittedly somewhat frightening. I will not share them with you today for fear of the inevitable and disastrous repercussions that would ensue.

Instead I am embarking on a new course. A study of Australian culture to see if the dregs of society have the mental capacity to create art that is worthy of international display. In this regard, I have started with an overview of Australian Cinema.

So it is with a sense of great anticipation, that I announce, here, at this very moment, that in 1 hours time, I, the greatest thinker the world has ever known will watch The Dish.

And in doing so I expect to see deep into the dreaming heart...

I couldn't wait the hour... so I watched it immediately.

It turned out to be a gentle/uplifting movie that wasn't grand in scope. Which isn't a bad thing. It definitely hit the spot that needed to be hit.

P.S. I'm Great, and Canadian
P.P.S. Saw Chopper years ago. I thought it was really well done, and enjoyed it at the time. Though I suspect it is too visceral for my current tastes.
P.P.P.S. My favourite Australian movie so far is probably Ten Canoes

Dark City, was filmed in parts of Sydney and Aust Dir/Prod
The Craic, couple of mad Irish immigrants in Australia, very funny
Mullet, very dry/satirical and sometimes dark look at yobbos
Fat Pizza, all you'll ever need to know about SW Sydney
Darkness Falls, just god damn scary...
Kokoda, war flick, very gritty

"NOW I'M POP!"

I once had sadistic bastard friend who used to delight screaming that out from underneath the door when they came to visit...

No wonder I'm a nervous, bloody wreck.

Was my favourite movie for a few years.

Two names appear to have floated to the surface of this thread... Rose Byrne and Bubby. For some reason I'm leaning towards seeing something Rose has been in
