Question How many times does YOUR computer crash?

I have lame computer... I'd like t murder it but the next one will be just as lame so I might as well just continue swearing it...

Well, i can't vote with those options 'cause i'm runnin both win98 and Linux so my pc behaves different
Linux NEVER crashes while winblows crashes are countless

Mine has not crashed in the last 2 months since i have had it. Probably due to a combination of WinXP and a brilliant comp

Posted by TranceSeeker on Apr-08-2002 13:15:

Mine used to NOT CRASH but somehow now it does, that shithead!

maybe someone can help me.

Sometimes my comp just hangs and then it says
preparing for physical memory dump, then it counts to 100% and my comp restarts. (blue screen, i have win2000 server)

My pc doesn't crash (win2k pro) well, it does occasionally but then its generally something I have done that has caused it to crash (tryin to get my Athlon 900 above 1225 for example) so that don't count ....

Posted by Fraggle on Apr-08-2002 14:43:

hmm, with 98 it would crash within 2-3 days guaranteed

but i must say 2k is much more stable...usually 7-8 days before crashing

haven't tried me or xp yet

mine never crashed on me ever, though the most i leave it on for is 18 hours, it goes off when imm asleep.

I do spend ages making sure there are no buggy util's installed and the harddisk is kept free of junk

I know that windows has crap memory management. When you open and close progrmas the ram, used does not come back and normally gets lost. You might wanna look at getting a ram booster.

But maybe you just need to reinstal win2k, or update to xp

very rarly, after i changed to win 2k pro, and even if it does crash, its either coz my cd-rom is having a period or my 64 megs of ram cant take it no more, lol!

Mine sometimes doesn't go, sometimes does, on win98se, tho I've got a gift of fucking up every OS i ever had from Windows 3, Dos etc to the newer ones, I don't mind it, I just wish it used my 128mbs of ram better

Worm Popper Big Bird has landed!!!!

....my PC has crashed a couple of times. The reason for it, driver issues. Damn drivers will always get you. The computer gets confused and then crashesssss - in Bird words "the computers peeks right out"

Posted by nomatteus on Apr-09-2002 22:15:

i use w2k pro so it almost never crashes...

BUT when i had winME crashes were once every hour or so...evil microsoft!

Posted by wozza on Apr-10-2002 17:06:

well i just got a new comp but still crashes oh well but still better than my old one!

Posted by Spyder on Apr-10-2002 21:07:

Be Cool!

It hardly ever does.. and if it does it's at least once every other week... to tell you the truth.. it only crahs.. when i restart it...

it gets stuck on the windows page..

other wise.. only if i press winamp.. tooooooooo many times

Posted by extulas on Apr-15-2002 05:29:

Well, I dont use a mac, But I have been up for 96 days and counting! My top was 129 days 8 hours 23 minutes 34 second God bless Debian!

Posted by rage on Apr-15-2002 06:24:

Talking NEVER!!

I'm on a mac and I rarely crash at all. Mac OS X is superior

Posted by nrjizer on Apr-15-2002 07:01:

For some reason, winamp always causes me to bluescreen constantly. Other than that, programs crash on their own constantly. I hate windows =/

Posted by kolkiewolkie on Apr-16-2002 12:30:

Evil1

crashes all the way... usually happens when I run certain programs or a combination of progams ....allthough these programs SEEM installed properly.....and my computer is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo unbelievable slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, that I've decided to start all over again this weekend.... exit EVERYTHING, and install all the shit all over again... (which also implies I am offline a couple of days...

Posted by Mail Man on Apr-16-2002 16:59:

About once a day my pc crashes BUT ITS ALWAYS AT THE WORST TIME at one point my pc was crashing constantly, prob cos i just got a cable modem and i was downloading and deleteing all sorts of shit.

Posted by sharpeye00 on Apr-28-2002 17:10:
