Cubase Studio 4 midi to Audio insert fx?!!?!!?
Hey just curious as to if anybody knows...Does the midi for vst instruments send midi from the project to the audio insert fx? I can't seem to get the midi input to work for my Fabfilter Volcano plugin, If I make a midi track and select it as the output for the midi track then I can get it to work. But not just from the notes playing on the instrument channel that I have it plugged into as an insert.
Is this not a feature? I mean I guess I can work around it, but thats a hassle.
thanx,
~Airyck~
Okay as it seems nobody can answer this question, I have a new question.
very simple favor...
Someone with Cubase 4 full version not Studio, can they tell me if they have "Midi Sends on the new Instrument Tracks" not Midi Tracks but the new "Instrument Tracks" You may have to right click the upper part of the channel editor and show it, if you have it.
I would really appreciate it, thanx.

On the instrument track, I do not see or have "MIDI sends".
The way you had it set up the first time is the correct way to set up the effect you're trying to achieve. All MIDI controllable fx plug-ins work that way (Glitch, MIDI Gate, etc.).
The MIDI track and the VSTi track that shows up in the mixer are 2 totally different things. Yeah, you can play notes and stuff through the MIDI track on the sequencer, but any inserts you put on the VSTi track are on a completely different track (that's why when you look in the mixer, you have your MIDI track AND a VSTi track for your instrument). Hence, having to create a new MIDI track and assign the output to the plug-in.
Make sense?
makes perfect sense, thank you.
